Highly unlikely. I would not expect the release of infantry this year.

Why? I did the first play test and it felt like it was ready to go. Why do you think they are going to take so long? Other than the corp logo being a literal snail lol.
Seems like the main stuff that will have to be added is the trees. Also the issue of infantry only vehicles like APC and armored cars. The servers are also a issue last play test was apparently bad in that department.
wish theyd finish it so we could work on modes we already have this modes gonna flop like naval

from what I hear when 64 v 64 worked it was fun. Large player count stuff is always fun somehow. Like the minecraft classic dwarves vs zombies everything was mad in a good way.
So I only played the first test and would say whatever they changed between that one and the second or third (not sure what we are on) likely caused the issues. Not sure that it was 64v64 the first time but it certainly doesn’t need to be. I really hope they aren’t trying to copy Battlefield out of some sort of dollar chasing but Gaijin does like to chase a buck. What company doesn’t? Just seems like every day this is in beta they are losing money, as I have nearly 10 people ready to play this that do not play WT other modes.

Eh this one was actually fun though. The problem with naval IMO is that too many people played too much World of Ships and that is their benchmark. It’s a very high benchmark to cross, but I do think you have to finish projects before taking on new ones or admit defeat and move on.
From the Youtube videos the first test was enlisted style second was the 64 v 64 with no “AI” but you where placed in a squad of fellow players.

I liked the AI squad stuff, it was different from the other games. Removing that alone will annoy the crap out of me. I want DIFFERENT. I have a play vid from the first test and it was great, can’t believe they would change that into all humans. :(
