I agree, today I literally saw a guy with a 17 K/D in a B7A2 Homare with around 1400 kills. If that doesn’t show the vehicle is too good I don’t know what will
imo the minimum requirement to get a bomber spawn is to have a bombsight.
B7A2 would still keep it’s bomber spawn but planes like Ju-87s (there’s a 3.3 one with 20mils), SB2Cs and many others and would give a little much needed breathing room for regular bombers that already have it hard enough.
I know that dives started from very high alt but in war thunder it’s more effective to start dives at lower alts.
maybe setting the bomber spawn further behind fighters would help
because I get “escort me pls” like dude, I need to climb to something that is speeding away
Also it may give bombers a chance to cross after the main fighter carnage is over and most of the cases everyone is at lower altitudes, where they would have to climb back and assure at least 1 base destroyed
I am not sure if you play often on the large Kamchatka (not the “East” variant) there is for one team the bomber spawn way behind the northern airfield.
I described it here:
So at least in theory the bombers spawning in the north have a higher survival and drop chance as they spawn 11 km behind their own airfield and they are far enough away from the center of the map allowing own interceptors to fight enemy interceptors.
The reality shows that the majority of current bomber players are unable to use this tactical advantage as they refuse to climb and even start slight high speed dives towards bases.
So with reference to the OP (who has stopped playing):
This map allows even B-25s to get above 6 km - and i reached 6.5 km in the US B-17 there. As these altitudes SB2Cs are no threat, they are slow like hell.
Even Sterlings can get there and have way better chances to get something done.
Dying to this meme playstyle is pure skill issue.
When will Gaijin lower the Tu-4 and B-29 BR then…
It’s not a meme play style. SB2C-5 and B7A2 are legitimately very dangerous fighters when given an altitude advantage.
They are very slow. They don’t have a very good turn rate and climb rate. Fighter still somhow end up in higher attitude then both of this 2 aircraft.
At 3.7, most ppl don’t climb. When I do see som1 higher than me, I just avoid em.
welp it look like it mostly new player then i guess.
Don’t head on them? Dying to these is ridiculous unless you are in a bomber. They can’t turn and when they do they lose all their energy, they don’t accelerate well, can’t climb at all, all people do in them is bait noobs into head ons with their good guns and hunt strikers.
They turn extremely well.
I don’t personally die to em. I just like playing them.
Once, maybe twice, then their energy is shot to hell and they’re practically falling. You ignored that part.
I play the SB2C-4 as a fighter and interceptor A LOT. I am telling you right now; no matter how well I turn after 2 complete circles I am nearly falling out of the sky.
No fighter will get on your tail if you don’t let it, and it faors pretty well in headons too. Also, the B7A2 has far better energy retention.
Lmao - how to say that you have no clue without saying it.
This is nonsense part II. At least you are correct with the non-existing climb for the Helldivers.
If you would have more experience you would have noticed that experienced B7A2 players are a massive threat as they beat most of the single engine fighters in turnfights - and head-ons are basically their only weakness as the air frame is very fragile.
Whilst i agree that the Helldivers are absolute trash and are a real pain to fly with a Hotas in Air RB it was always the case that certain aircraft need brain power and proper energy management to make them work.
So if your initial energy advantage is limited by time, you have to use your time wisely and select your targets regarding their threat levels. Every turn costs you energy and requires a decrease of altitude in order to maintain your agility - so you fall out of the air because you turn horizontally without compensating the loss of airspeed with a drop of altitude…
The B7A2 was designed to be on par with an A6M regarding turnfights and is the way better aircraft.
Bro…I hate to be ‘that guy’ but you are like barely positive or negative in airRB props like 109F4, P51C and you don’t even play airRB that much…
First of all: As long as I don’t violate rules I can do what I want!
Or more sarcastic:
As long as players use every single plane equipped with bombs for bombing, only to gain their personal ressources and give a sh** of winning the battle, I fly every plane as fighter.
And personally:
Any single player who contributes something to winning the battle is welcome.
This thread relates to mainly balance issues.
Nobody cares if we are having B7A2 at 6.7 instead of 3.7, or maybe at that time we would say it’s too weak.
What even is this 😂
Im average and can safely say iv never been killed by that middy jap/ chinese bomber or any other… unless im chasing them and then its on me.
This has gotta be the weakest rage post iv ever read
Not sure if “balance” is the right word. Imho the fellow player nailed it:
And from my pov the concerns addressed within the OP are valid.
But this topic has multiple aspects as aircraft like the T-18Bs or the Brigands - and to some extent BTDs and even Tu-2s - farm clueless bomber players too. And i would even claim that most of those farmed players deserved to die because they get caught whilst flying straight to a base and are in 95% of the time in bombardier view when they get killed.
And there is a fine line between farming bombers and eliminating threats. So as a B7A2 player i go mainly for 3 bombers: B-18B, Pe-8 & B-17 - and only if i have the option for an attack from 12 o’clock high to avoid deadly return fire.
Why? Because a B-18B is hard to kill - same as a Pe-8 if they get above 6,5 km. If you don’t kill them early game you run into the risk that half of your team tries to go for them and got murdered by the 20mm or 0.50 cal turrets.
Attacking B-25s or other twin engine bombers is usually not worth the risk to get hit by ai gunners and losing altitude in general - and the standard fighters are able to kill them rather easy.
Relax man 😂👍
I use mine as an “Anti-Yak-3/Ki-44 spam” weapon - just because i don’t like the low rip speed of the Yak and the FM of the Ki-44s is way too responsive for my taste.
