The pantsir could really use some balancing, especially now that the F15E and Su-34 were added, both of those jets have weapons with 15km+ range, which is way beyond what other SPAAs are capable of hitting. In conclusion, the F15E may have really good A/G ordinance, but before even being able to get it’s ordinance off, it will get shot down by the pantsir and it’s 14km+ range. However the Su-34 can fire off it’s missiles, and before it’s hit by SPAA, the SPAA is basically dead, because it’s been hit by missiles way before it has been able to even fire it’s AAA.
My idea of solving this issue is buffing other SPAAs/nerfing the unbalanced vehicles currently in-game, or adding the MIM-104 Patriot anti-air weapons system. :)
Edit: I know the ranges aren’t pinpoint accurate, but I think you get the point
Unfortunatly Gaijin thinks we’re all eager to hop into our planes to fight against CAS in Ground RB.
So unless the playerbase is giving them a rather pointed note that Ground RB in Top Tier has become CAS RB we’re not going to see any improvements at all.
I do want to use the SPAA, but it’s rendered useless as I can’t even get the anti air missile to target, since they kill me sooner than I even lock them with my radar :/
I have over 1100 kills in the FlaRakPz, so yes I’m perfectly happy to jump into an SPAA to deal with CAS.
However, as Rozby wrote and as you can starting to see from various Content Creators, the balance needle in Ground RB is at 10.7+ BR all the way towards CAS.
You can literally wipe out half the enemy team in a single run and if you’re a decent pilot, no Missile SPAA (except the Pantsir in long range and the Type 81 in medium range) can touch you thanks to the “realistic” control mode.
SPAA have been, realistically, rendered useless by Gaijin.
The newly added OSA has no TVD module, which increases your reaction time to radar pings significantly as you then need to start searching for the plane/drone/helicopter. A TVD improves that visibility significantly and reduces your reaction time.
And on the lower BRs when Helicopters with ATGMs appear your Gun and Missile SPAA doesn’T have the range to hit them if they stay beyond 4km. Your average Gun SPAA has a range of 2400m and your IR missile won’t lock at less than 3km.
So your only choice, and what I believe Gaijin is trying to enforce, is to hop into a plane and use the plane as Anti-CAS.
disagreeing with you isnt trolling. this is a forum, just how you can spout your opinion here so can i.
and you telling people to get lost is objectively not constructive feedback and may go against forum rules. please follow the forum rules.
And before Radar SPAA become a thing, many nations are stuck with harder to aim cannons on easy to strafe platforms. CAS is just better than SPAA at nearly every single BR.
It was a lot more balanced before the Radar Missiles were changed to a realistic control mode.
It is rather difficult to counter CAS when your missile is unresponsive to your commands or overcorrects massively.
And if your SPAA with missiles doesn‘t get a proper Thermalvision, then you know where the enemy plane is coming from, but haven‘t locked on to him yet. It is really, really difficult to keep any CAS at bay…
They just need to extend ground BR’s up to 13.3 like air. Then move the Pantsir up to fight those modern aircraft.
It still amazes me they haven’t done that and used the additional space to decompress. It’s very unfair for ground only players that it’s impossible to never have a maximum BR game. You’re always going to be in a downtier even at the highest BR thanks to ground & air players bringing in higher BR aircraft.
That is why my aircraft in lineups is usually CAP. Nothing slaps someone in the face harder than the reality of there being a fighter up who is actively hunting CAS planes.
