When A6M5s are already 5.3-5.7, have Gaijin really remember that A7Ms are also at 5.3-5.7?

On the bright side, was playing a bunch of 5.0 last couple nights. I saw a fair number of A6M5s both on my teams and on the enemy teams. I didn’t notice a single one of them do remotely well, at all. They all got stuck too low and too slow and were just hung out to dry because they couldn’t keep up, and almost all got blasted to pieces. So maybe the stats will drop off enough for Gaijin to finally realise they beat the dead horse a bit too much this time?

I admit I may have helped a bit, when I saw a friendly A6M5 who looked close to getting a kill so absolutely BEELINED my Yak-3 towards that enemy and stole the kill from him while legitimately shouting “NO! YOU WILL NOT GET A KILL A6M5! YOUR BR MUST GO DOWN!” lol.

I never see any Japanese high-tier WWII aircraft being dropped in recent years; the only one is the G8N, however, that one is back to 6.3 again.

Most of their BR are crazy, like J7W1 and R2Y2, even like N1K2s and J6K1, actually, they are not as good as most of the same BR planes, even worse than some of low BR planes, such as F4U4B or MB326K

Yeah its constant nerfs. I dont think I’ve seen any of their tanks go down in BR in years either.

Wait - the F-1 went from 10.3 to 10.0 so we have that going for us! Thats about it though.

J7W1 needs to drop down by literally 1.0 lol, its so terrible. R2Y2s should be around 7.3 but they too suffer from the zero curse of “they turn well”.

N1K2s definitely should be 5.7, and the J6K1 needs to drop as well. I remember that BR change. “but lots of cannons mean high BR right?”

I’d even go as far as suggest that most, if not all of the Ki-61s could drop by 0.3 to be honest

the J2Ms are the only real Japanese planes at WW2 BRs that were raised and kind of deserved it, I think they are pretty much fine where they are currently though.

The only japanese props that really need nerfing Id say are the Ki-44-I which could go to 3.0, the Ki-43-III which could arguably go to 4.3 and be fine but its debatable if it really needs to, and the B7A2 Homare 23 definitely needs to go to 4.0.

They do seem to turn better then their stat card would suggest… but they are the same BR as the first F-86 Saber… I’m not really sure I would want to take that bet.

Tbh it just needs to get air spawn

tbh even with an airspawn I dont think that’d make it any good at 6.0.

I’ve spaded every plane in the japanese tech tree (before the Thai planes were added) and to spade the J7W I ended up playing it mostly in GRB just because everyone stayed down low and I could relatively reliably keep an altitude advantage over them. It wasn’t very enjoyable even in that mode where half your kills are from oblivious revenge bomber pilots who couldn’t win an dogfight even if you tried to let them win

In GRB it’s really strong because of the cannons. You can melt even heavies with 1 or 2 taps and thanks to their great range SPAAs are no problem either.

PATRIOT

It is too slow, and it is pretty hard to have enough speed to dogfight as Props, even back to 10 years ago, when it had a bomber respawn point, the main strategy to counter R2Y2 is to let it dive and then waste all of its energy. Once it loses its altitude and speed, R2Y2 is pretty hard to climb or accelerate to high speed.

J7W1’s FM makes it hard to perform as DO335B or TA152C, even just a hit on the wing will make it lose control, even though it fire power is wonderful.

J7W1 basically needs to keep itself above 500km/h or have time to accelerate to said speed before the enemy catches up.

I think a 5.0 + interceptor spawn will do justice for it.

It does have the upside that you can’t head-on a J7W1 without a 30mil shell on your lap afterwards.
So BnZ with the added bonus of granted head-on winrate.

I guess this BR changes would not be so sad for some persons if the real and little known feature of Japanese late war fighters as fuel tank automatic fire extinguishers

As for example, all Zeros from A6M5 had this system which was possible to extinguish fire once what would prevent dying from random hits of 12.7mm or maybe 20mm.

A6M5 had this system for wing tanks only, since A6M5 Otsu, all tanks were equipped with this system
N1K’s tanks had it, J2M3 and later (but only for wing tanks) and etc what can be seen at this suggestion

Do.335 is pretty easy target. can’t say anything about Ta-152.

Which Ta-152?
Ta-152 h-1 uses flaps to win 1v1s in 3 turns or less (past that it starts to fall on the backfoot)
Ta-152 C-3 turns worse than the J7W1 at all speeds, includin +500km/h, but can use flaps to improve Turnrate. But the speed is there only needs to be 5.3 / 5.7.

This one I guess

Fr F8F is bonkers at 4.7 just because of guns while other one is at 6.3… No idea why they uptiered A6M5 Hei and A6M6c which are basically worst zeros in game. Spitfires at 5.7 are way better not even talking about Spitfires MK IX that only recently got put from 5.7 to 6.0 still being arguably best prop plane in game. Spitfires have so much more engine power than Reisens.

As Japan main. I already rarely play any zeros above 4.3 because they are just too outclassed and are really just there if ppl are stupid enough to choose to dogfight or just ignore.

DO335B is a monster, and it is better than TA152C. However, Do335a is a disaster

I can’t find any way to fight with F4U4B to be honest, unless I spend 8 mins climb to 8k, and then game is over

You are supposed to meet them in uptiers, thats why its so hard to kill one.

J7W1 is what happens when you merely look at burst mass and BR based on it.

USA mains:
“LOOK A Japanese plane I can turn fight! I’m going to head on it!”
