is this really how bug reports are processed? “nah, this other game is correct, the 3 cited primary sources are wrong”
we get it, the russian bias must flow, but this is ludicrous.

Because the technical moderator is correct, it is not a video or IR tracker. It’s using lasers, inertial speeds and trigonometry to simulate a simpler version of tracking. Something not yet implemented into the game.

literally nothing about IRST on that website
considering you’ve added t-80s with imaginary thermals, 2s38 with imaginary ammo, yak 38 with imaginiary radar and missiles etc etc. why can’t you just make a “quick fix” for it and just give it IRT for now then.
Ask the Devs, I’m a Game Master, I only deal with in-game chat and name bans. I have literally zero connections with development of the game and zero communication with them :)
So that’s it, based on this devs have to give tracking to every CV 9040
Well no, since the CV 90 isn’t one vehicle, it’s more of a Lego set with the same base and the buyer can pick and choose what they want installed. The “CV 9040 TD” is a technical demonstrator that only exists from the manufacturer to show what is possible if those parts are chosen.
okay so it functions differently to other IFVs.
implementation would still be the same, no?
in terms of how is affects the gameplay yes, but it would require Gaijin to make an effort which is unlikely to happen
Well, if gaijin is adding thermals to T-80B, that were only tested there during USSR life, not implemented
or same for T-80U,
or making autoloader for Obj.292, which wasn’t ever in the vehicle,
or adding 3BM42 to the TURMS while it can’t use it IRL,
Or
Or
Or
A thousand other “or” with the same idea
why should this specific “LEGO CV 90” moment matter at all?
Is it CV 90 with 40mm gun? Does it have UTAAS? If answer to both questions is yes - fitting vehicles must have air target tracking.
Agree
issue block no longer has any meaning
Not really, since it isn’t actually tracking. The gunner lasers once, manually tracks for a little bit and then lasers again, the fcs then calculates speed and direction between those two points based on change in gun angle and distance and then just continues to apply that same change automatically. The gunner would still manually need to adjust to keep the gun in target, and if the target switches speed or direction the “tracking” wouldn’t adjust to follow, it would just keep going as if the target didn’t turn or change speed.
It’s a different story with the newer versions of the cv90 as ther was a software update that added a “continuous” mode where it automatically sends laser pulses a couple of times a second. THAT would be more like the tracking that IRST is in game. But the gunner would still need to manually adjust small amounts so that the crosshair (laser) doesn’t fall outside of the target and misses it, at that point it would loose track (sort of). The problem there is to be able to figure out what cv90 has that upgrade to begin with let alone prove it to Gaijin.
Because those are justified by balance (and you are free to agree or disagree with that way of handling things and/or for any specific vehicle). If the Devs don’t see a need to balance the cv90 then there is no need to do that additional module/ability unless proven the vehicle had it in real life.
They never “have to” do anything. They could justify it that way if they wanted to, but they don’t “have to” as you initially said.
Also, if I’m not miss remembering, isn’t that what they did with the lvkv 9040C? Doesn’t that vehicle have IRST tracking? Or am I miss remembering? I don’t have access to my pc due to an irl move so i can’t check.
Yak-38 doesn’t have radar missiles.
2S38’s ammo is real.
T-80s observational thermals were used on over a dozen units in T-80B’s case, and over 100 units on T-80U’s case.
Oh wow they took the naval 57mm cannon and mounted it to a BMP-3…
Revolutionary! And T-80B entered service without thermals that’s the point, the M1, CR1 and Leopard 2A4 all had thermals.
Anyway Gaijin should model laser warning system triggers for when a 2S38 locks an air target, It uses a ranging laser.
Functionally in game CV90 tracking would work the same
Can we add LWS warning then for when a 2S38 locks an air target?
tbf that was probably the 400th report he’s read about the CV90 and IRST
