What would be the best 4.5 gen in the future?

Probably inter aircraft sensor sharing and datalink, fully networked stuff like that

Su-35 since there’s Russian bias

Not sure, changes to the Sensor Fusion has been pretty continuous throughout the years. Sounds like more MIDS/Link16 improvements related to that process.

I wouldn’t say if they were generous. F-15EX would be easily capable of carrying the quad rack the F-15C has.

(To achieve the 12-missile loadout, it’s dual pylons everywhere except the fuselage/intake area. To achieve 16 you’d simply swap the underwing inner dual pylon for a quad rack and voila, 16 AMRAAM)

As for the AMRAAM D, aside from the obvious tiny gimbal limits US airborne radars have, the one thing that would make them even more capable in USA player’s hands is an airframe with better acceleration. The F-15C isn’t slow by any means, but it’s also nowhere near the F-15E’s acceleration when it comes to early game BVR and is instead being used (or should be) as a mid to late game flank attacker.

I think the “underperformance” of the AIM-120D would be quickly forgotten if they were launched by something roughly as fast accelerating as a Eurofighter.

Idk lol gaijin doesn’t even have Arexis which is part of the RWR and MAW for the Gripen modeled correctly. No chaff dumping with MAW just flare. And the weird cases where you still lose RWR coverage on the roof despite having 360°

Would still be funny to get ASRAAM on Grippy

It might be capable but gaijin will definitely require proof of its mounting since USAF has stated it to only carry 12 missile max. If we do have some kind of proof (like using the same pylon as F-15C) then we might get it. That is why I said that

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why precedence is a thing.

Inb4 vague photo of dual R-77 with no real identifying markers for which jet it is and so everything before the Su-35 gets it because why not 🤷‍♀️

EDIT: From the bug report concerning the F-15C GE’s MRML pylons…

Something something… technical capability?

Thats true, they manage to put an experimental missile or tech that ignores everything, so no big suprise

P.S. Gaijin, 360 RWR/MAW when?

this already exists on all of the 14.7 planes, they’ve got no deadzones. people used to say the RWR and MAW on the EF2K was nonsense because it’d show weird angles on missile approaches when in truth the two dimensional display is trying its best to show contacts and missiles from a 360 degree RWR and MAW

  1. This was in reference to the earlier mentioned Gripen E, which does not have full spherical coverage as it should for both MAWS and RWR.

  2. Not every 14.7 jet has it. Su-30SM2 for example lacks it.

  3. Eurofighter works as intended… it just takes a while to get used to how it appears on RWR/MAW when you’re inverted.

Maws is finicky for Gripen E, anything above 90° can bug a bit and disappear from the MAW view or be on the wrong side on the visual module.

It needs a lot of work before I’d say it’s 100% working.

It does have 360° at times but then not always.

J-15T doesn’t have 360 degrees coverage afaik, or I simply got a defect one.

J-15T isn’t a 14.7 plane to me therefore i don’t account for it in that statement

forgot the 30SM2 exists, but either way i would’ve imagined it still had it.

nothing about being inverted was ever said, though.

What if the fa18,f16,f15,f22,f35 get
the NCADE missile?

Supposedly it uses a aim9x seeker and was successfully tested on f16 and was made for the aircraft listed above

I don’t think this would be added over AIM-260

it is

Well I mean more of r27er/r27et version for America plus we most likely won’t see aim260 for another 5-10 years

IMO the candidates for such would be (only considering existing aircraft); Rafale F.4.2, EF-2000 T4, Su-35S and J-16.

But all have their weaks and strengths, there will never be “the one only best” - especially if we also take Pilots / Players skills into account at some point.

only 2 out of 4 14.7 planes got it (50%)
