What to do if in the settings in simulator battles the head movement up and down left to right does not work
Are you using keyboard or headtracker or mouse with freelook?
Probably just correctly assign it… ;-)
Joke aside, maybe indeed you did it wrong, as you don’t only need to assign keys for the movement, but to “activate” the movement as well. Clumsy, I agree, but that’s how it’s implemented, sadly.
So basically the movement you set by pressing the buttons for up/down, left/right/front/back only takes place while that additional button is pressed (sorry, atm don’t know what it’s exact name is).
Thats the setting under axis right? That can be disabled…I’ve never needed to do that. It’s more likely some form of headtracker disabling those settings
I’ll have to check, maybe they changed that over time…
it won’t work if you are using open-track. A bug present for a long time without any kind of acknowledgement from Gaijin.
mouse
It’s a known bug amongst the sim community. A big shame, Gaijin (as usual) won’t fix it.
You are probably using or have installed a head tracking software and the only way to get the head movement back in-game is by COMPLETELY uninstalling the head tracking software.
Do you have the “View in battle - Air” axes set up? You can find them under Controls → Aircraft → Camera Controls. You need to use “C” for freelook anyway.
I want to say hes referring to the “head movement” settings just below those, but its not entirely clear
That’s why I prefer to clear things out :D
I have the same problem, it seems to me that (in my case) it comes from the presence on the computer of a headtracking software which prevents these commands from working.
In my case by uninstalling the software it started working correctly again
Yep, same here. It’s a widely known and reported issue that has been reported years and years ago
Have you ever run opentrack? If so, opentrack overrides the head motion Settings. Although this issue has been reported for a long time, WT is currently unable to automatically disconnect opentrack when it is not running.
What does your “control mode in simulator” setting say?
