Mods, please don’t instantly close this topic again. I can’t speak for everyone, but I want my mods back. As the title states, what’s the deal with sound mods being disabled still? It’s been a month now of using the vanilla sounds. It’s mildly infuriating as a long time wt player for Gajin to completely disable sound mods because of a small percentage of people having issues with them. We’ve gotten 0 updates on the progress of mods returning. It takes 5 seconds to say “We’re still working on a fix for sound mods, we’ll keep you updated”. Instead we get 0 updates regarding sound mods, but yes, let’s have some more premium vehicle sales!
It seems their focus is on creating new premium vehicles that completely ruin the game. (Unrelated but how is the SU30 still at 13.3, that’s some BS).
There are hundreds of thousands of people that used these sound mods before y’all disabled them. There definitely was a smarter way to fix sound issues than disabling mods for the entire player base.
Gajin, please just re-enable sound mods while you work on a fix. We’ve gotten no updates with sound since y’all disabled them. 🙏
Yeah… very annoying, the game sounds terrible without them and all we’ve gotten is “Soon™” and why they were switched off in the first place is really vague.
They were switched off because last major update completely broke some mods, to the point where it would just straight up make the game crash on certain maps. Also “”“they”“”" (the non-gaijin employees “volunteering” for ticket management) complained that people dont know how to use/disable mods whenever they have problems and put the fault on the game. That statement in itself is completely false, when I reported sound issues I gave them all the information, mentioning 100 times that I was NOT using mods at the time of capturing footage of said issues. They closed my ticket and said “you used mods!” (yes they literally DID NOT read the ticket).
“A few people had issues with mods. So we just nuked the entire observable universe, to make sure nobody never has this issue ever again”.

Yeah, I think they were also salty that modders were doing a better job than them (Typhoon’s proper VWS that has an accepted report that is over a year old for example)
Yep, that too. Anyone with basic understanding of their sound engine and how to make sound mods can lowkey make something 10 times better than they could ever dream of.
If they decide to never enable them, for the love of the Snail, send the Sound department to actually listen to what aircraft sound like and try an recreate them!
Ragebait or clueless. Call it. Nobody, in the entire history of gaijin, has ever said the mods were disabled because “muh cheaters”. They were disabled because last major update introduced its load of bugs and it messed sound mods so bad it made the game crash, and rather than telling the people complaining about it to shut up and delete their sound mods, they just took the easy way out and nuked everything. Console player try not to call everyone better than them cheaters (it takes little to no skill to do that), level: failed 100000 times.
They are quite literally working on new guides to making sound mods to make it easier to create them as well as new tools that automatically checks combability. They will enable sound mods again when the new tools they are working on are ready.
1.Have you read the Guidelines to make sure your post didn’t contain something that breaks the rules?
2.Discussing moderation in public is against the rules, if you have questions about moderation on the forum then send a message to one of the Forum Moderators to ask about it. You can find all the teams and the areas they handle listed here: (Who is who and Reporting Procedure). If you don’t get an answer within a few days you can add more moderators from the list to the original message instead of sending a new message (that way you preserve the date of the message and it doesn’t look like a new request), adding one of the moderators to the message every 2-3 days or so until you get an answer.
Please do not to add the seniors until you have tried all other regular moderators, the Seniors likely won’t answer unless they are added and pinged by the regular moderators but if you’ve added all the regular moderators with no answer then you can add the seniors.
