What is your reason behind 1 death leaving?

Dying at the start of the match without even doing 1 kill is frustrating asf, prefer to leave than losing my time against rats using T114, T58, AML-90, etc
U need to have no life, no family, no money, no house, no friends, no brain, no soul, no organs, no bed, no girlfriend, no food, no license, no national ID, no alive to play that tanks.

It’s an online, competitive PvP game … quitting is anti-competitive and there should be negative consequences for doing it. Many other online games already penalize quitting like this … and guess what, quitting isn’t plaguing those games like it is in War Thunder because of those negative penalties.

im not north korean so i can do whatever i want, lmao.

This mule has been beaten to death.
Punishing players for leaving a battle early DOES NOT WORK.

At best, if you try to force a player to stay, they will enter the battle with a sub-standard vehicle that just donates tickets to the enemy. Once that 2nd “beater” is quickly dead the player will move on.

War thunder is also a team based game, yet when I ask for cover, mark the map on one person, etc, for over 5 minutes straight up with NO support, the player base magically turns into clones of Helen Keller. Redditor logic at its finest.

Competitive games have some kind of balance.
Considering WT competitive outside of tournaments is disgracing any competitive game ever existed.
It’s an online battle arena with vehicles , with realistic -NOT SIM nor completely arcade features.
And i’ll be fair , even with the best balancing it won’t be balanced outside of tournaments because it has too many vehicles that differ in characteristics even when belonging in the same class and they were not built with competing in a battle arena game in mind. They were built with achieving missions in mind. Which WT doesn’t have…it has deathmatch and that’s that.
Now it’s point is …have fun. Sometimes the game delivers and some times not. Depending what someone calls fun.

I only find myself leaving if its obvious my team has completely disintegrated. I’m not going to spawn another tank when the entire enemy team is sitting on my spawn

The simple truth of the matter is that the 1-death quitting problem is fixable, but Gaijin is simply unwilling to address the problem because they are too busy counting all of their money.

I hate to contradict you, but I am married, I have four kids so I’ll let you consider the implications of how that happened, four dogs, a house, three cars. I work full time. All of which I thank God Almighty for.

Sometimes I get on and have used a few of those vehicles. Quit pressing the w key and expect dopamine to be deposited. Put on some headphones and apply some situational awareness.

Also, you’re gonna get ratted sometimes. Thats the whole point of light vehicles.

bro wtf
how can u have a wife, 4 kids, 4 dogs, 1 house, 3 cars, work full time and STILL have time to play War Thunder!?

I mean, simetimes the hours my wife works are different from mine. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to get the level of skill or experience now were I starting fresh. Plus, sometimes she gets home and wants to decompress by playing some mobile game for an hour in bed.

Its something I jump on for an hour or two on the weekends, sometimes more if the family is out doing something else which is rare since I am usuallt with them.

Idk… you just have time sometimes. Not like I used to, which is good, because honestly the amount of gaming most of us do is probably addicting.

He has 28 hour days, clearly. I wonder how he gained an extra 4hrs per day

The amount of battles that i have been apart of that look like a complete loss in the very beginning but end up coming down to the wire because 2 or 3 GOOD players stuck it out because the opposing team died 1 time and left after the initial OVERPUSH is hilarious. People that 1DL will ALWAYS affect the match outcome for the worst and im sorry but Premium vehicle or not Winning the match 99% of the time means your getting more RP and SL for your time spent. Sure you could crank out 2 or 3 “decent” losses in the time it takes for 1 Long Win but that 1 Long win is a better ROI of your time. Unless gaijin starts doing something more substantial about 1DL its going to be the only thing “farmers” do. Doesnt matter if they give free vehicles at higher BRs, doesnt matter if they rework the rewards, it doesnt matter what they do unless they start actively punishing players that die once and then leave within the first 5 minutes of a match.

You know what other type of players affect the outcome for the worst?
Players who refuse to play the team objective. When you get a bunch of players just sitting around to pad their KD ratio it’s a guaranteed loss.

The comebacks you describe are few and far between.
I never leave a battle because my team is losing. One reason I might leave is because of my team. If their Give-a-%&*! is extremely low, then I’m not gonna waste my time.

Well have fun waiting in the queue for a very long time.

Punishing NEVER works. Many ways a player can get around any punishment you suggest, and the problem will still exist and you will be waiting for a battle for much longer than you are now.

I agree with the PTFO point of view as i too feel the same way in that reguard. Also KD doesnt mean squat. This isnt COD or CSGO where your KD means a damn thing. Those that think a High KD means anything in this game need to just go back to the brainless slop that is COD.

The comebacks are alot more often than you may see but that just means you are getting bottom of the barrel teams 24/7 or are playing with a platoon and are expected to be that 2 or 3 decent players.

Que times are like 10 seconds at most unless your play the Bias nation that is russia so que times dont mean shit to me. I play armored warfare from time to time and guess what the que times are in that game. 5-9 Minutes. So que time doesnt mean shit to me. Longer que times for a REAL battle and not a 2 minute stomp fest because of 3/4 of the team being in premiums and only having 1 vehicle in the lineup? Count me in because i want value for my time not 40 matches a day of slop because of 1DL.

That will change BIG time if you try to lock out players. And time may not mean much to you, but I’m pretty sure for a large proportion of the base it does. Why do you think there are so many small maps that force players into CQC and quick deaths.

But here’s the important part - which you seem to have glossed over - players can easily get around the proposed lockout. One simple way is to bring a reserve tank along with the garage. If they lose the 1st vehicle (within the first … 5 minutes was it?) all they have to do is spawn the reserve tank, let it die quick (or self D) and presto - no longer a ODL, and no “punishment”.

There’s plenty of ways to put code or otherwise in place to catch things like that. Also incase you didnt know if you only have 1 vehicle in the lineup there is no crew lockout. But at the end of the day Gaijin don’t give a rats ass so what’s even the point of continuing the debate. Gaijin has gone from a Company pushing Realistic Accurate Vehicles to “Selective Realism” and Money hungry and almost Gatcha game at this point and that’s all that matters to them. Things like the BMPT and KH-38MT are very clear instances of they just don’t give a damn because the worse your experience the more money you spend to try and “level” the playing field in your favor.

Incentivize spawning more tanks by offering more rewards to players that yknow play the game

I’ve got another reason!

CQC map while facing Russia when around 11.3, knowing you will fight the BMPT and Arena tanks with crazy armour and crazy weaponry.
