You are a very selective reader if that is on there as less than 1% of people commenting here and outing themselfes as 1DL have statisfied that condition even remotely.
So either less than 1% somehow made your list, meaning your 3 points cover 100% of the replies, which they do not, or you are just making stuff up.

Bringing 1 vehicle and leaving is by the very definition not 1dl

1dl is a punishable offence, bringing one vehcile and dying then leaving is not punished, ergo its not 1dl

Would love to try a tank only mode and not have to concern myself with being bombed, rocketed or a missile attack by an aircraft before I can get out of spawn.
As for the 1DL, not a fan of it but some circumstances within, and outside of the game, just make it a reality. In my experience it’s more prevalent in the high tier games which is another reason I’m enjoying the mid to lower tiers.
It does appear that some believe this is a team oriented game, I used to think that as well. After playing for a while I learned that it’s not. Despite that I make every effort to help win the battle. Might not be getting the most kills but I repair teammates, firefighting for teammates, scouting, towing stuck or upside down teammates, providing covering fire and capturing points. Having good “teammates” really makes the game better but if you’re on a bad team, it’s a really bad experience.
Add a full uptier and you have a recipe for desaster.
Uptiers can be so frustrating when you have to compete against cold war tanks with WW 2 tanks. I spawn, and an AMX-50 Surbaisse lolpenned my Tiger II, I’m immediately fed up. I’d rather put up with the crew lockout than be the sl/rp piñata for the enemy team
This + getting a terrible map.
Lower tier is more tolerable. Despite the century inconsistency and maps that look like they’re out of a video game with defined lanes YOU MUST TAKE and designated hills you have to peek from instead of something more natural but going off rails here.
Some maps at high tier are just impossible to enjoy because you have to sweat too much in close quarters with some really terrible jank and inconsistency. It wouldn’t be bad if most of the maps weren’t ripped from low tier. I heard they did this change back in 2018, no idea why.
I don’t usually 1DL, but if it’s a bad map what’s the point playing something you don’t enjoy? If I enjoyed that kind of wacky, janky gameplay I would play arcade. Notice how there’s almost no one playing high tier arcade? It’s because there’s no difference.
There comes a point where the question should be changed to, Why do some people field more than one tank in a game?I usually do this because I’ve made it a point to use every tank in the game for a few matches before moving on to the next one, so if I do a lot of ODL it would take me ages to move on to another tank.
