What is your reason behind 1 death leaving?

I tend to ODL when we get stomped like tonight where I achieve like a 30% winrate despite being in the top 5-6 in each matches doing good while the rest of the teams are just bad or unlucky.

Why should I punish myself in higher repair cost and being spawnfarmed when I already got 3-4 kills, a cap and a couple assists before dying.

If the match goes well, I use a universal backup and stay in the fight, if the team get stomped, I GTFO and try my luck in another match.

I’m tired of the quality of the players that I get paired with, it’s not their fault, but it’s not mine either, they need to implement a ranked mode where you get a rating like in siege for example where bronze play with bronze and so on so we can expect to have teammates with skill levels somewhat similar to ours.

It would benefit everyone, good and bad players, help them improve too without being too frustrated and I would gladly then bring full lineups but for now it’s just not enjoyable.

And I don’t care what poeple think about that, I’m playing a game to have fun, not to please other poeple.

to be fair when i look at account users who die by 1 death leaving i end up needing to report them due to them being a bot account user with premium vic.
i never leave after 1 death though but there are so many bot accounts out there now that i need to report at least 3 people each match due to this BS

If 1 minute after respawn you get hit and die by one hit. How not to get out. Mean on spawn!

This is from October of last year, so im guessing i can wait another 6 months for a reply but since its hard for you to re-read what you put i outlined it for you.

Turret Basket, since with the addition of turret basket to USA,GER,SWEEDISH tanks it became more frustating to play with that countries. Getting 1 shot and your whole tank is immobilize is not worth spawning. Before i could spawn my full lineup, but after that horrible addition it is not even worth it.

My attention span is about the size the of Delaware compared to Russia.
And it gives me another chance in next match with new circumstances.

Some circumstances when I will leave after 1 death

  • When there’s 3 caps, 14 of my team goes to one cap, then on toward enemy spawn right after that
  • Ash River - when my team won’t leave spawn areas and just camps
  • Abandoned Factory when the lemming train heads to the warehouses on the hill, opposite side of map from the water/railroad tracks - EVEN WHEN THE LONE CAP IS AT THE WATER SIDE.
  • When my “team-mates” give no support and just sit there looking to improve their K/D ratio

So basically it’s because of the team I get stuck with. I’m just an average player, but if I see my team is not making a reasonable attempt to complete the objective, I bail. I’m not wasting my time being a target so the others can skeet-shoot.

I sincerely am always amazed that people can post this and not see the irony…

YOU are one of the guys you are complaining about…if you LEAVE you are NOT “making a reasonable attempt to complete the objective”…
If you stay and fight, the odds of your team improve and there are less chances another one of your team mates also leaves…

I was several times on teams where someone leaves with a sarcastic comment to the team…and we end up winning…
You don’t have to have a perfect team…only one that is not worse than the enemy :))))))

Nope.

Any time I have stayed under the conditions I listed above the team loses. Badly.
Those battles are a frustrating waste of time and are lost in the first 2 min. I see the same pattern every time. By the time I leave there’s already 2 or 3 others that have recognized the futility of the crap team we have been stuck with. All the while THE OTHER TEAM IS PLAYING THE OBJECTIVE.

Why should I waste my time when the team won’t even try? I have 6 other countries I can play while I wait for the timer to reset for that one country.

Another one for my list… recently had a battle where enemy team had 2 squads of 2 players versus none for our team. It was a curb-stomp. I stupidly stayed until the end and wasted my time. Gonna look for that ridiculous matchmaking in the future.

Reminds me of another one… mid BR lvl (4.7-6.7) and a teamate squads in a friend with reserve tanks. Then the two of them go on to die 3x quickly without contributing to the team, but certainly helping the other side by removing our tickets as they die.

The list goes on and on and on…

I have to agree, I also don’t like how some idiots can’t play it! There are 3 fields but everyone goes for 1 point out of 3 as if everyone has some advantage from that and then you lose the whole game to such idiots! Other things are some maps that are either unplayable or it stops being fun when you grab the same map 20 times in a row! So why not make a vote on making all the maps in the game possible for all playable BRs. and not by BR of vehicles! But have open maps for all BRs!

Just seeing a full squad from a squadron alone is a good sign to nope on out of that match.

My two points:

  • Comebacks happen…if you leave the game you reduce the odds of it happening and won’t even realize a comeback did happen
  • If players do things that penalize the team it is a bit odd complaining about bad team players… and this obviously includes leaving early

I play games, i played real sports and i live life…if you keep IN the game it is way more rewarding…even if you lose, you play to the end…
(odds are some of you will think this is some cheesy crap…it makes all sense to me…)

The difference is I bet you probably don’t play against “pro” level opponent/teams IRL. WT for the most part is like that. Sunday co-ed pickup teams vs. Olympic caliber. And the game does nothing to segregate them.
That is the real reason for 1DLers. No one likes getting stomped with no sense of being able to win.

It is clear that ODL is a problem, but it is something generated by many factors, since each player who does it has different reasons, many of them legitimate, and many others shameful. What I do know is that the basis of the blame lies with the devs, since it is something that they have been generating due to making increasingly smaller maps and Counter strike style, in which in many cases if several enemies reach certain points of the map, it is almost a lost game. Having completely neglected the damage model resulting in penetrations with random damage, possibly generated by one of the most disastrous RNG programming that has ever existed. An extremely basic penetration calculator that only generates that certain bullets do not penetrate what they could in reality, when there are even players who have made more precise penetration calculations. Volumetric armor and bullets, which although it is a realistic thing and that should be in the game, as always, the devs implement it in the game in an extremely simple and plagued by bugs that generate pointless bounces. The ease of getting CAS early in the game, causing many players to focus solely on scoring quick points to get their plane and abuse it.
As I said, aside from the somewhat legitimate factors, there are also players who do ODL out of simple selfishness. If you want to reach a point on the map and get killed before you get there, if you try to capture to get CAS and get killed, if you shoot and miss and get killed.
