Comebacks happen…if you leave the game you reduce the odds of it happening and won’t even realize a comeback did happen
If players do things that penalize the team it is a bit odd complaining about bad team players… and this obviously includes leaving early
I play games, i played real sports and i live life…if you keep IN the game it is way more rewarding…even if you lose, you play to the end…
(odds are some of you will think this is some cheesy crap…it makes all sense to me…)
The difference is I bet you probably don’t play against “pro” level opponent/teams IRL. WT for the most part is like that. Sunday co-ed pickup teams vs. Olympic caliber. And the game does nothing to segregate them.
That is the real reason for 1DLers. No one likes getting stomped with no sense of being able to win.
It is clear that ODL is a problem, but it is something generated by many factors, since each player who does it has different reasons, many of them legitimate, and many others shameful. What I do know is that the basis of the blame lies with the devs, since it is something that they have been generating due to making increasingly smaller maps and Counter strike style, in which in many cases if several enemies reach certain points of the map, it is almost a lost game. Having completely neglected the damage model resulting in penetrations with random damage, possibly generated by one of the most disastrous RNG programming that has ever existed. An extremely basic penetration calculator that only generates that certain bullets do not penetrate what they could in reality, when there are even players who have made more precise penetration calculations. Volumetric armor and bullets, which although it is a realistic thing and that should be in the game, as always, the devs implement it in the game in an extremely simple and plagued by bugs that generate pointless bounces. The ease of getting CAS early in the game, causing many players to focus solely on scoring quick points to get their plane and abuse it.
As I said, aside from the somewhat legitimate factors, there are also players who do ODL out of simple selfishness. If you want to reach a point on the map and get killed before you get there, if you try to capture to get CAS and get killed, if you shoot and miss and get killed.
I do one death leaves because the game is fucking boring now. My match is basically: BMP-2M, Scout and get kills, spawn SU 25, get killed by SPAA, leave.
It is getting really repetitive for me so I just play CAS now, if you can’t beat them join them
Most people don’t…this^^ is very rare a would surely not explain the ODL on all BRs we see in game…surely it is not the “real reason” for ODL in most occurrences, simply because it does not apply on the VAST MAJORITY of the cases…
Most players do ODL because it suits their goals and playstyle…nothing really complicated…and i actually understand it…
My only “complaint” is when players say they ODL and then justify that they do it because “other” players won’t play “for the team”…the incoherence simply annoys me…
I play to the end all games i get…some we just lose, period…part of gaming…on occasion we are overrun early and i try to get some down with me…
The really fun ones are those where we comeback for the win…or when game is decided on the last few tickets…
At this point holding W as a single premium and hoping for nothing is pretty great compared to the normal gameplay cycle of trying to actually do anything
I leave when I get that BS where a destroyer at their spawn kills me in one hit while I’m at my spawn (~30 seconds into the game). Gaijin’s “fix” for naval has made it such BS that it makes me rage quit. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad they screwed over coastal like that!
Also, i’ve found new way to have a peace in this game.
I just don’t spawn at all if i see my tanks costs 100sp.
I am ditching all full uptiers lately. No care for crewlock, as i when i crewlock all nations i play, i just spend the time bullying low tiers with 1 vehicle sweden lineup with that machinegun SAV howitzer.
Basically, my quality of life with this game improved drastically
