Most jets with it have good ammo counts too
Not quite as good as the GAU-8, which is arguably the best aircraft gun in the game, but still amazing

I’d say the only downside is that only a handful number of jets have it, unlike the vulcan which can be played throughout mid and high tier, from f104 and phantom to f15

Yeah, imo it’s the best part about the A-10’s since you can’t get it anywhere else and makes it really easy to farm the ai ground targets
Being able to have the Vulcan on so many jets means you are guaranteed to be familiar with it by the time you hit rank 8 US

idk NR-30s are way better than DEFA/ADENs in my opinion. BK27 is a really nice and easy gun to use, just the damage can be a bit lackluster sometimes
I’m a gsh guy I could never understand the low velocity heavy shells of nr xD
It kinda feels slow but not slow, firerate is fast in wasting ammo but slow to miss people between shots, and the damage is super unreliable

What are you on about? The DEFAs on the mirage IIIC are fucking amazing. I can consistently get a couple kills with them per match. Had a match once where all my 3 missiles either got dodged flared or kill stolen and I still came out of it with 4 kills purely due to my DEFAs. And I still had about 1/3 of my ammo left over.
Every time I use the DEFA I’m scared. There’s a high chance I won’t make it alive a duel against a M61 minigun.
Looking at it recently I think the alpha jet has its gun pod angled down for ground attack, which may be most of the problem, even with default belts it shreds when it hits… but aiming it is a nightmare… might need vertical targeting to use well

As long as you don’t go head on it works great. Even in headons it kinda works. not agains F-104 but those things are really hard to hit head on
