Thermals help spot people much easier, especially during night battles, or when behind bushes or when only parts of their tanks are visible
Laser rangefinders quickly find the distance to the enemy and adjust the gun elevation accordingly. This means that you do not need to aim above the tank you want to shoot, and you will have a much better chance of hitting weakspots.
grass is green
im like sure oktagon matches have better freedom of movement.
Someone did not look at the screenshot and understand the frustration.
laserrange finder ain’t gonna be very useful in this map however Thermal imagine can help you turn a tank from being same color as grass or whatever object in to something shape like a tank… Laser rangefinder in this map mostly only can shoot down helicopter who is just camping in the air.
still could be good with a round that doesn’t have the best velocity?
Those features are there for the cool factor, or showing off to people who don’t play and couldn’t care less.
Also, to add to laser rangefinder, it makes hitting those rooftop shots with HE much easier (since HE have different ballistic than darts)
That’s the perfect map for thermals. Forest is where thermals are strongest.
unless you are a german main with two missing eyeballs then thermals are useless and make zero difference for spotting a tank threehundered meters infront of you
We git this map at top top of toppest tier
Laser rangefinder gives faster and more accurate ranging than non-laser range finders
Thermal imaging makes tanks easier to spot as they are hotter than their environment
Exactly. And it’s better for Gen 1 thermals than long range maps since everything is much closer and clearer.
You underestimate how helpful thermals are in a forest.
My only issues with thermals is I can’t spot lived tanks sitting next to tank corpses lol
Just because tanks can engage at long ranges, doesn’t mean they should be forced to.
As opposed to tanks can engage at long ranges so lets constantly force them into CQC
You will scan an area much faster with thermals than without them. You are trading depth perception and clarity for better contrast.
LRF is still useful for shots over 400m for darts, and on that map/layer there are plenty of places to camp where you are shooting 600-800 at players leaving spawn or near it.
You can also spam laser rangefinder if you suspect that the enemy is behind something. Just have to wait for the crew to say something
Its the players that are responsible for this moreso than the developers.
Look at maps that feature large open areas, a few players will try and play the patient game of sniping from cover, adjusting their fire and repositioning for slightly better angles.
Most of the players will drive to where the action is, and aim to close the distance whether they’re holding w until they’re killed or patiently moving from cover to cover.
The short of it is that people like to play this game up close more than they do from a distance.
