Warthunder has several nations and sub-nations that help maintain rich research trees with diverse vehicles. Of course, many of these sub-nations are simply copy-pastes (Greece, for example).
One point I’d like to raise regarding this is: if a new sub-nation were to be chosen for the game, which one would it be, and what vehicles could be featured for that nation?

You’re trolling, but Soviet countries other than the RF really should come to the USSR tree. At least non-controversial ones like Belarus, Kazakhstan or Armenia.
