That’s because it’s a heavy tub of lard with less firepower than the already heavy LA9, it’s just awful.
Re: Vampire (since we’re now discussing jets instead of props for some reason). It’s one of those jets that I would only use in GRB. I just find that its characteristics are better suited for the chaotic ground battles, and its turn time well suited for hunting helicopters. Couldn’t imagine using it in air battles.
Well, whatever then, lets talk about jets.
I hate the Meteor Mk.8.
Yeah yeah its a good plane blah blah, I just hate flying it. It’s stale and one dimensional. It’s also completely powercrept now and has to fight hordes of migs and sabres every game.
I also hate sabre and mig spammers abusing the fact these two club mobiles are way too low and poisoning an entire BR range, so yeah fuck the F86 and the mig 15
Bruh, you say that, like the La-9 is a bad plane
What? It’s true.
There’s barely any advantage the La-9 can leverage in 6.0 of all BR’s. Top speed? 640kmh @ SL is nice, but it’s easily negatable. It has an average climb-rate but it has a really early ceiling of 4km. It’s hard to setup energy traps/situations where you get the advantage if every plane you fight climbs over you if they can’t chase you.
Dogfighting? Bruh. Armament? Come on. It’s such a low hanging fruit I don’t even bother.
Every fighter @ 5.7-6.3 slaps you, save for the 152 C3, and that’s mostly because I haven’t fought that plane yet when I flew the La-9.
If I ever fly this again, I’m just going to delegate myself as a rat plane or a support fighter.
No lmao
Doesn’t matter if you can still cook most of the enemies
Rage bait
Pretty straight forward easy
My dude the plane is only bad when it’s stock, the rage bait here is inasne.
I dont like playing the supermarine spitfires except the Clipped wing variant. Way too much energy loss in a turn for my liking
Honestly, and I’m gonna be real, it’s the He-111’s. The main issue is the lack of side defensive armaments.
That and the fact that a lot of aircraft currently in game lock up when they really shouldn’t.
Surely you didn’t form your La-9 opinion from only fighting newbies? What does the La-9 offer against the usual opponents other than baiting people lower and having okay MER at high speed? You’re an absolute bottom in every relationship (from what I’ve seen of so far, COULD be that all of them were non-spaded).
Most people who play low tier are noobs, this should be expected especially with USA.
Isn’t this how most Russian fighters work that aren’t the Yak-3U/VK, Yak-9U & I-225.
Griffon with clipped wings, I have the premium one, terrible experience
So your opinion really was formed against newbies. Any plane can “dogfight” anything in this case.
Which is why I consider most Russian props inadequate, other than the I-225 and ITP (Yak-3U and 9U are ok, still inadequate against competent opponents)
Let me rephrase myself: you can’t effectively take an offensive role against anyone whenever you want to. Others are faster or turn better under most conditions, so the only way you’re going to get any action is when someone is sniffing your ass and you reverse them.
Name one fighter plane it can beat and I’ll duel you on it
I HATE the IL-2 1941 because of it’s horrible turn time and climb rate, I only played it once or twice and never touched it again, plus it has not so good bombs until you unlock the FAB 250
The G.56 Just not enough of an improvement over the G.55 (which I think is a fantastic plane) to justify sitting at its br, it also then gets full uptiers all the time which just makes a bad situation worse. Always just feel outclassed at best and hopeless at worse.
I’m adding the I-225 because I was genuinely not expecting it to pull worse than any heavy fighter. How on earth did the Russians design a single engine fighter that pulls worse than a heavy fighter or attacker?
The J21s are also pretty bad for their BR.
A6M5s and the similarly overtiered S*itfires like the Vc and Seafire III
nothing says fun gameplay like watching red nametags run away from you for 20 minutes
dishonourable mentions for the Hornet III (flying brick) and La-11 (flying trash)
P-51-C-10 or the king cobras are pretty abysmal
