Imo, Germany has the second best CAS with Russia in first place. Having big funny guns on everything is very useful, especially when fighting M4A2 and Kv-1s.

I’m talking mainly from my experience 3.0 - 6.7.
And you have never been absolutely annhiliated by a p47 or corsair? Bearcat or hellcat maybe?

P-47 and Corsair are okay, but missing autocannons and having bad low alt flight performance are massive drawbacks for CAS. The F4U-4B is the only REALLY good U.S. CAS plane whilst the rest are just average.
Corsairs and bearcats all have cannons though. Not all corsairs but you get the point.
Yeah, but the F8F-1B and F4U-1C both suck as far as ground attack and low alt dogfighting. The 1C only gets a few HVARs, and F8F gets only two drops, which isn’t bad, but it lacks rockets and it’s at 6.3 where there’s simply better options.
Afaik, the only other 20mm Corsairs, aside from 1C and 4B are premiums.
8.0 is a horror BR for anyone except maybe China and Israel
Though in Germanys case I still want to know who insisted the M48A2GA2 should get DM23, it was the perfect lineup tank for the Leopard 1 now it’s stuck in limbo

The F4U-4B is good, but that’s only one plane and one BR where U.S. has exceptionally good CAS, and it’s also at 5.7 where U.S. tanks are particularly weak so it evens out.
At any lower BR, U.S. CAS is pretty average trading bomb count for bad flight performance and no autocannons.
low tier american planes are not bad in flight performance and .50 cals are often just as damaging as canons (when using API and API-T)
the bomb loads beat out everyone too.

I think we’re playing two completely different ‘Swedens’ in War Thunder, man. Everything pens my turret, everything pens my hull even guns under 80mm are punching through the front of my PLSSB+ and its variants.

Pretty much every nation has OP 1.0-3.0 CAS due to how easy strafing is, and how bad noobs are at using SPAA. That’s not really a U.S. specific phenomenon.
Purchases have no effect on matchmaker or mechanics. As far as i can see you have not played the B+ .

Panzers are great and most german tanks has great armor with this funny insane guns
Cold war era is more then decent and germany has probably the best 9.3 lineup with kpz 70 1a5 and t72a
