just for context. I’ve only really played/consumed the air side of the game and have little to no knowledge about ground, and as result i don’t know what nation to go for when it comes to CAS or ground in general. I currently main France, USSR, USA & Sweden :p

It depends on what BR, some nations are better in some BR’s but worse in others.
For the top BR I feel like it shifts a bit back and fourth over time and update to update, but i think Sweden has probably been the most consistently in the upper regions of performance, for top tier at least.
By the time you get to the top BR it’s probably going to have shifted either way so it’s better to just pick a nation where you like the vehicles in general :)

Depends on the update, as it is heavily impacted by FotM.
Currently, arguably its russia, arguably followed by france (heavily depending on whenever the dutch apache will retain its LDIRCM), with US at third place.
All other nations have some remix of US equipment with few domestic missiles that are being shared anyway, with china remixing russian equipment and domestic heli missiles and israel SPIC(E)ing it up with domestic FnF bombs.

Top tier atm russia pretty much only due to CAS however depending on what BR you are on actually that might have completely changed once you hit top tier.

for top tier it is without a shred of a doubt Russia. CAS at 12.0+ is just incredibly oppressive for Russia.
13.0 - Su30SM and Su34s with Kh38s and Mi28NM with LMURs immune to IR missiles and capable of just chaffing away radar based ones without any problem.
12.7 - Su27SM with Kh29s and very good FM for a flanker and Su25SM3 with mid FM but 4 Kh38s and much nicer matchmaker seeing 11.7 downtiers pretty often.
12.3 - Su30MK2 premium that is currently just sweeping through that BR for being the easiest and most common CAS plane youll see. Not only does it have 6 Kh29TDs which are an incredibly reliable A2G missiles, it also has R77s and R73s as a backup in case of enemy CAS. It is as of right now the hands down best 12.3 GRB plane ingame.
12.0 - Ka52 is assuming it doesnt see SLM still one of the best helicopters ingame. It still has access to Vikhrs which are the best non-FnF ATGM ingame and great optics, it has its very funny damage model and still has the 450 rounds of APDS ammo on a cannon that is very capable of shredding planes that would try to kill it.
For below that, it very much depends as other nations have different vehicles that shine.
Like China with the JH7A at 11.7, USA with F4E at 11.3, etc.

I think it depends on you’re playstyle. If u do t intend to CAS all that iften, Sweden is great
If you choose Russia, you will suffer from 1.0-12.3, and then enjoy the toptier. If you just want to enjoy WWII, choosing the US is always correct

Soviets, no doubt, might not have the best tanks but they are good enough, and the CAS is just insane at the moment.
Going lower
Soviets at 10.3 are extremely strong at the moment with P2W vehicles like the 2S38

If we ignore the FOTM hellhole that is top tier, its probably the US. They have very strong lineups for every BR, and plenty of OP vehicles. Unlike Germany, they don’t have a mid tier filled with straight abysmal teammates, though Germany is also strong vehicle wise. Top tier meta switches from patch to patch.

I would say Russia.
Not because of certain vehicles, but the over all feel.
They got the whole packet.
A metric ton of AA, they are well covered through the BRs.
good light and medium tanks.
good heavy tanks.
great TDs of all sizes.
I know some nations got better stuff in some BRs, but just the fact you are well protected by good/great AA guns through your BRs is a major bonus.
Other nations is boned in several BRs as they don’t have good or even any AA.
I know someone don’t agree with me, and i honestly don’t care, this is how i see things.

Russia is in general the strongest in terms of both tanks and planes for pretty much the entire TT there’s not a single BRs where Russia suffers.
Germany has some overall good tanks and planes, and the best SPAA, but lacks diversity.
Sweden gets a lot of wrpowered vehicles, but limited BR options.
Britain and Italy both have very good vehicles, but are often slept on due to weak toptier and being minor nations.
Russia is the best overall pick, but if you want a second nation to grind:
Sweden has the strongest toptier lineup afaik
Germany is arguably best at 3.0-6.7, although not the most interesting tanks.
Britain is really fun from 3.0-6.3, but lacks good toptier and you needa deal with solid shot and HESH.
Italy has good picks for the entire 3.7-8.3 range, but lacks heavy tanks.
that was true before they nuked the IR range to “4km”.

For ground vehicles, maybe. Or well for MBTs possibly. since it has one of the worst spaas. Thing is, while having very good mbts it lacks in cas options. not very good in jet cas and basically no top tier heli. so you cant really put the sp you earn to good use in the air while also struggling to protect your team from cas spamming long range standoff fire and forget atgms.
gripen A, gripen C and new F16AM. AJS37 is kinda ok, for its BR its fine with Rb75T.
The second FA18C they got is not worth it
