What happened to german ground?

I don’t doubt that as I think the Sherman is underrated and just not a sexy tank for WW2 fans but what does this matter in the context of what I put? Its a correct fact but unrelated to my statement or the game.I am a big fan of the Sherman and came very close to buying one.I regret no doing so.The wife shares a different view.

Well I could spend all day trading history and pretending all of it is my own,I was not in the SS or Wehrmacht during WW2 fortunately .Everything in my head comes from the library I am surrounded by,Information passed to me by lecturers at uni or studying A level one of which was a WW2 military specialist with a Phd.

I have spent time with WW2 veterans ,many of which are gone now and their experiences are simply regarded as anecdotal now by many.I know from experience the boots on the ground don’t have a clear picture of overall events at strategic level.

My Studies were 30 years ago and I was a different person with a different view of history and politics.I have many famous books form the 70s which are regarded as old news now and even I correct them occasionally. History to a point also has peer review where one expert argues with another.Politics plays a big part, many documents have been with held or destroyed if they don’t say what people want to hear.
Obtaining a degree in history is about jumping through hoops and saying the right thing, not necessarily the true thing.

I feel we are on the same page here overall in our understanding of tank history.Maybe the best study of Tiger effectiveness condensed into 12 minutes is this as it recognizes context and the caution needed when studying documentation.

The Guy a sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger but it has subtitles.I would not be surprised if you haven’t already seen it.It puts the Tiger into perspective. It does mention combined US/Commonwealth operations.

I guess in fairness to the OP the Tiger in it’s prime did not really face the opposition it faces at 6-7 BR ,it certainly did not face 60-80s Artillery. I imagine the OP is fine with the Tiger in the Downtier which is probably the best approximation of reality.

As game defenders would say, wouldn’t we all love a down tier every time but that is not the game.

The only hill I would die on over the Big Cats and this game is that the Devs did ruin the feel of 6-7 BR with the flood of artillery.I accept what is done is done.
Actually maybe I don’t as I rarely play 6 BR anymore and I used to all the time.

This is true. Fun fact, the song “Brickhouse” by The Commodores is actually about the US lend lease program and how it was the “brickhouse” of industry.

“Ow, she’s a brick house
She’s mighty-mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out
She’s a brick house
That lady’s stacked and that’s a fact
Ain’t holding nothing back” indeed

“ How can she lose with the stuff she use
Thirty-six, twenty-four, thirty-six oh what a winning hand”

36 of course referring to when the program SHOULd have starter and 24 being Roosevelt’s favorite number.
