Arcade players are the problem? Maybe some are but I’m not one of them. I play mostly AB and can’t stand these map changes. I prefer the large more open maps that are suited to tank versus tank battles.
Even when I play RB, the majority of players head to the CP’s in the urban areas instead of those that are in the open. So by that logic it’s the RB players responsible for the bad map design?
Or possibly it has nothing to do with the mode but more so with the mentality of the players in addition to poor map design.
Those of us who prefer the larger open maps meant for tank combat are a dying breed. I don’t know, maybe it’s a generational thing?
Give me the option to choose between large open maps or CQC maps and I’m choosing the open maps 90% of the time but unfortunately we don’t have that option in map choices. This lack of maps choices is one of the problems in WT.
I play to grind and sitting on a hill and getting 2 or 3 kills a game is nowhere near as efficient as running into battle and getting 7 to 8 kills and a point cap or two. If rewards were increased but they got rid of the small maps I’d be happy.
BR compression harms all modes and vehicle types universally, and matchmaker issues can be rolled into this.
In all vehicle types and modes, there are weapons which don’t do much if they hit the opponent, or struggle to effectively penetrate the opponent (specifically for tanks and ships). Doesn’t really matter whether we are talking currently useless pure incendiary bullets on many machine guns and cannons, tank APCR/HEAT/HESH, certain missiles with problematic traits making them not work (AA.20 Nords as an example), and so forth.
Finally, people who complain about any given thing but do nothing about that thing themselves. Complaints of this type are epitomized most by the CAS debate, where for years there has been an annoyingly loud minority demanding a tank mode without aircraft just because aircraft get their own mode on their own (while clearly not playing the latter to realize how shit it is).
Beyond just three major problems though I also add objective setup, map design, and excessive grind, to name a few.
My biggest gripe right now is high tier stock grinding honestly. It takes 400k RP to unlock a jet, then 2.5 mil SL to buy, crew, and get an expert crew. After that, then you need to play at least 20-30 games just to unlock the basic modules you need to be able to contribute anything to the match. At 14.0+, not having chaff and only 2 fox 3’s is so awful that it makes playing the game the opposite of fun.
They need to ad some permanent game modes like deep strike, SEAD, or guns only for air, and something similar to that for ground.
I agree. Grinding era 8 vehicles is a bit frustrating, you do not see the end, expecially when they are continously adding new vehicles on top. I like to complete trees: I’m completing my second one (Italy was the first): UK; I completed air era 7 but now I face 11 new planes, each standing at 420,000 rp. I will get a pause, I’m afraid.
Second issue is Russia: I do not mind that you are clearly at disadvantage against their MBT (mainly caused by the far better protection that force you to better aiming than a Russian player); but this issue causes also that in every match (AGB) you always plays only against them because everybody at top tier wants russian vehicles, evidently. It’s a little bit boring at the end.
The BR compression is just an excuse for being lazy to think about a decent gameplay around certain vehicles introduced into the game, Economy though was worse at times now aint much better either. 420k RP for a bone stock aircraft?! Thats just a very bad joke… back in the days when there were no mega jets and even the ones that were here were balanced with the prop planes since they were actually quite similar but they gave it an effort to try. Nowadays it feels like they just put as many stop gaps into the tech tree that you are forced to buy premium of sorts to progress…Also for a normal regular human that actually has a life besides WT, the grind is ludicrous! We cant keep up and constantly have a stick put in our front wheel with every update. Gamemodes are the same since 2012. fly around and kill everyone, not a single slightest change at all… Ground isnt much better either, back when T34-85 and Tiger H were top tier you used to actually pay attention to your gameplay because the game rewarded carefullness, now its like on a conveyor belt, just keep going, failed? meh next, next next like a job with a mandatory daily norm. All in all 3 are not enough, everything on that list is a problem and some extra but they are not so hard to solve, its just the disinterest of working on it and masking it under some corporate BS and giving you a shiny new premium to buy instead.
Add another one,
The average players’ complete lack of understanding behind why or how certain things work or just Gaijin not explaining game mechanics properly
Such as people thinking the amraam is goated because it’s long range, not knowing how datalink works with fox-3s and even Gaijin not explaining at all what each icon/line on the radar screen means
This results in people spreading misinformation or just performing terribly because they just don’t know how stuff works
Leaving old,.sometimes broken vics at same BR while being power crept and never have their BR adjusted / being fixed is the worst.
Swift fire flash missiles being a good example.
Many jets left to.rot with a BR from back in the day- kfirs (all.but 13.0)
Old/ wrong flight models never fixed, even with pages of evidence- harriers, tornados and the rest.
Gaijin can just look at the full.GB tree and see they have neglected their game bigtime.
Oh the flight models…this one particularly tickles my certain body parts… WHY for all thats holy did they ruin the EF (the first one) FM? I can understand that it needs a nerf or adjusting or whatever, but at least on a FBW aircraft with good crew, whats the rudder behaviour? That has been the Gaijin move since 2012. to nerf aircrafts and its been annoying from day 1
And now we have YET ANOTHER HE HEEEEYY!!! EF for ANOTHER 420k RP that is EXACTLY the same as the previous one except this ones FM isnt as fuked up as the first ones is because obvious reasons, right?
Not last time I checked, though in a test flight only but AESA EF behaves much nicer than the first EF in German tech tree. The rudder behaviour on the first one makes it freeze when you try to roll and pull and the nose just goes up. The exact same nerf on FMs has been in use from day 1. A lot of FWs suffered from that way back. Also not sure if its only a sound issue but the first German EF, when you roll inverted and pull or go negative G it sounds like the engine is cutting out/decreasing the thrust but not sure if its a sound bug or if that actually happens
Well yeah I understand that and I wont dispute it but still they dont feel the same…not sure how to prove it though since I have no idea how to record lol
