What are the 3 biggest problems facing War Thunder, in your opinion?

Arcade players are the problem? Maybe some are but I’m not one of them. I play mostly AB and can’t stand these map changes. I prefer the large more open maps that are suited to tank versus tank battles.

Even when I play RB, the majority of players head to the CP’s in the urban areas instead of those that are in the open. So by that logic it’s the RB players responsible for the bad map design?

Or possibly it has nothing to do with the mode but more so with the mentality of the players in addition to poor map design.

Those of us who prefer the larger open maps meant for tank combat are a dying breed. I don’t know, maybe it’s a generational thing?

Give me the option to choose between large open maps or CQC maps and I’m choosing the open maps 90% of the time but unfortunately we don’t have that option in map choices. This lack of maps choices is one of the problems in WT.

Lack of respect for bug report submitters.

  1. Tasks taking to long, promoting early leaving of badly running games.
  2. To many aircraft in ground battles with to much impact on the batle.
  3. To big BR brackets.

I play to grind and sitting on a hill and getting 2 or 3 kills a game is nowhere near as efficient as running into battle and getting 7 to 8 kills and a point cap or two. If rewards were increased but they got rid of the small maps I’d be happy.

How the game makes you feel like despite being in the same jet as you, a enemy with the same exact missile manages to out perform yours. Whilst mine go for thin air, or simply nothing after watching practically high five him, his will ignore notching and multipathing and one tap me by the fin. He can fly in a straight line at 100 meters and both my Ir and Radar lock missile will completely do nothing. But his will seemingly break the fourth wall and go through hell just to kill me.
Than you get the chinese players who are some of the most toxic player the game has accepted into its playerbase
Alongside if gaijin doesnt bend over for them, they start crying. A rip off of the re27 out performs it. We have historical proof of the chinese miltary faking results. Why do they get the fake results meanwhile every other nation gets their actual results or some other nerfed sht.
Im not a air rb player often, i dont see why my f/18c on the german tech tree gets out performed by the carbon copy on the same nation. Why does his sparrows ignore the 15 km gap between us when mine lose tracking or energy in the 9km gap. Why do my Ir missiles go for thin air when i can dump a sun behind me and their ir missiles stll go for me even though my after burner is off.
Why when i use aim120c they get notched super easily, but when i do the same exact movement i cant lose them whatsoever.

Ground is the same shitshow.
Ztz era absorbing 292 shells.
I play ussr 13.0 i get fucked immediately or i cant pen shit from the side a m22 could.

Why do my spike missiles tickle their toes, but theirs transcend time and space to pen me through a house over and over.

Everything ive said here is my experience in this game. Some will say its skill issue, i just call it BS. Because it feel like gaijin has it out for some people, for no good reason. There will be days 1/100 i get a good game, maybe even a nuke, and then it gets followed up with the most broken experience to date. My lmurs going for nothing. My air to ground non penning tanks. My ground to airs direct hitting and damaging the most useless thing on it. And meanwhile i get killed in the most stupid way possible that realistically would not be possible.
My t90m gets one tapped by a german 7.62 from the front. My leopard 2av non penning the side of a bmp twice. My abrams non penning the side of a ztz over and over.
My ka52 ircm not doing a thing towards a ocelot. Meanwhile my bukm3 which uses radar tracking. Cant kill the ah64e because its ircm actually works.
We have proof in ukraine even of the ka52 also working. Not on tv missiles but ir missiles.
And also my ka52 being shot down by a missile that damaged a single pixel on my tail. Or my vikhirs that non pens a irist.
Than i play a different nation and i cant kill shit.
It sometimes just feels lik gaijin devs are watching me. And purposely making the game shit

BR compression harms all modes and vehicle types universally, and matchmaker issues can be rolled into this.

In all vehicle types and modes, there are weapons which don’t do much if they hit the opponent, or struggle to effectively penetrate the opponent (specifically for tanks and ships). Doesn’t really matter whether we are talking currently useless pure incendiary bullets on many machine guns and cannons, tank APCR/HEAT/HESH, certain missiles with problematic traits making them not work (AA.20 Nords as an example), and so forth.

Finally, people who complain about any given thing but do nothing about that thing themselves. Complaints of this type are epitomized most by the CAS debate, where for years there has been an annoyingly loud minority demanding a tank mode without aircraft just because aircraft get their own mode on their own (while clearly not playing the latter to realize how shit it is).

Beyond just three major problems though I also add objective setup, map design, and excessive grind, to name a few.

Theres been three ground game modes (cap 1, cap 3, kill everyone) for like 15 years.

Submarines would revive naval.

Graphics are twenty years old and definitely look it.

Lack of unarmored cars

My biggest gripe right now is high tier stock grinding honestly. It takes 400k RP to unlock a jet, then 2.5 mil SL to buy, crew, and get an expert crew. After that, then you need to play at least 20-30 games just to unlock the basic modules you need to be able to contribute anything to the match. At 14.0+, not having chaff and only 2 fox 3’s is so awful that it makes playing the game the opposite of fun.

They need to ad some permanent game modes like deep strike, SEAD, or guns only for air, and something similar to that for ground.

naval as a whole is incredibly flawed, plagued by bugs and insane balancing decisions only chatgpt could make
