We Need To Talk About Scouting

I like scouting. For some vehicles, like Zachlam or Chaparral, it can be an additional purpose to use them.

You want scouting removed because you don’t like the op team scouting.

What do you man with “the op team scouting”?

Your own words about scouting.

Quote ANY of my posts where I claim light tanks are “borderline useless”.

You are basically pro LTs having the same advantage in WT as in WoT. But in WoT, LTs work differently, they are way worse when it comes to combat.
I think that’s what he meant.

  1. I said nothing of the sort. I’ve never played WoT so how could I promote that? You are making crap up to support your point of view.

  2. Why are you answering and not the poster I replied to? Is that your alt account?

You listed these and using these as reasons why LT should keep scout lol. When Scout is literally harming the game and LT doesn’t really need scout to do good. Still going back to the point of “getting good and stop relying on bad mechanic to do good” lol

So you are not pro scouting?

I don’t know why the poster you replied to didn’t answer. What kind of question is this?

Every vehicle has upsides and downsides you clown. My list is accurate.

That does not mean I think light tanks are useless - which you falsely accused me of saying.

I think scouting could be tweaked but does not need to be removed from the game.

Assuming I think light tanks are bad because I don’t agree with you on scouting is ridiculous. There is no correlation. Those two lines of thought are not connected.

I asked because you felt the need to chime in to a question I did not ask you.

I find it odd that you both…

  1. accuse me of saying something I never said
  2. keep liking each other’s posts - even though the posts are way off base

Look at it this way. Scouting is like a communication between commanders in the team, the player just being the gunner while in the background, the scouting commander relies info through the radio to other commanders. Without scouting, the amount of spawn camping and flankers that just sit there and kill everyone because most players are braindead would be unbearable to play, especially at top tier where vehicles can go from one side of the map to the other really fast.
Maybe scouting should refresh the position of the player less often, maybe every 2 or 3 seconds, and the 3d red eye you see above them should appear only when the top of the vehicle is visible to the player looking at it, instead of becoming less visible. If the spotted enemy is not visible to a player looking at him, then only the minimap ping should be visible.

Removing 3D markers above enemy head and leaving only markers on map and mini map would make it less gamebreaking.

I dont have to accuse anything lol. The fact that you defending Scouting is showing how much you know about the game lol. Pulling out vehicle downside and using that to justify a bad game mechanic is just pathetic lol.

Cry about it , maybe that will help you be actually decent at the game lol

Scouting is a mechanic that also exists in WoT in a similar way. So I compared both games.

I mean I can still reply to it, I see nothing wrong with that.

If so, I never meant to accuse you of anything you didn’t say. But I think it is just a missunderstanding.

I like posts that I agree with. I think that’s completely fine. I don’t think likes are that important.
Since his views align with mine a lot, I like his posts.
I’d understand your point if I was in the role of some neutral judge or sth like that but I’m obviously biased so I will be biased liking posts.

I have issues with your misleading posts that add nothing to the discussion.

It’s you that is doing all the crying about the game.

So i have played my first match using this (in my humble opinion dumb af) mechanic of scouting from an almost invincible drone while spading the EBRC Jaguar sitting behind a hill only popping out when something light and unaware pushed out. At no point was i in any danger of being shot at. Half the map was permanently scouted while i wasnt in any risk at all. Scouting anything that spawned trying to regain any footing in this half of the map (which was 80 % of the enemy team) My allies basically played arcade. In the end i could have probably spawned a fully loaded ruffafflo for 200 sp. 5 star mechanic, snail, really does its part to ensure good gameplay.

What. The. Fuck. Gaijin?

Scout drones are basically legal hacks, and the scouting feature was one of the worst things ever added to the game. It has basically made big maps borderline pointless to flank on, you are scouted and constantly being watched on, most of your teammates sit passively at spawn doing nothing. Scout drones need to go, or have the scouting feature removed forever.

Red markers were already good enough to give some situational awareness.

But the real reason they added it as a feature instead of fixing an obvious exploit with the binoculars was because they couldn’t fix it.

The exploit took advantage of the system that spawns enemies if the player has a LOS of the enemy, so when you went into the drone and out, pointed your binos and pressed scout, the game would register that as a valid scout because the enemy tank is visible to the player.

So instead of revamping that system and ensuring that didn’t happen, they just said “screw it” and added it as a feature instead.

Now we have this total gamebreaking cancer of scouting as a feature in the game. Scout drones need to be removed forever or be made an SP killstreak at this point, it’s just not fun to play top tier when you are 24/7 scouted.

All they had to do was check if there were obstacles between the player and the enemy, so if you went into the binoculars and tried to scout through terrain, it would fire a ray and check if it collided with anything on its way. But no, I bet they were too lazy to do that.

I actually like the scouting mechanics. It gives opportunities to shoot missiles at least on drones if players chose going air-defence. But red markers on the map would be enough information in my eyes.
