Was the A7E Corsair II certified to carry AGM 65F Mavericks?
Apparently this photo is from Squadron/Signal book BuNo 156883 page 36.

Probably, but the most current we have is the 65D.
They seem to be pretty similar, both have IR guidance.
It can uses AGM-65, i dont know why the game dont allow It in the model E
It was definitely certified on the A-7E, page 36 of the Squadron/Signal book on the A-7 has a photo of an A-7E carrying an AGM-65F (BuNo 156883 Hughes Aircraft for tests of the AGM-65)
I think the Maverick variants a aircraft or version can carry is used a balancing factor somehow (but in a strange way, I find): Take for example the A-10A’s where the “early” premium variant only can carry AGM-65B’s, and the “late” tech tree variant only the 65D. In reality there is no distinction between the two variants, and all A-10A’s could carry both the TV and the IIR variants 65B and 65D.
(There is also no distinction between them when it comes to AIM-9’s: theoretically they both could carry 4 Sidewinders - but actually I’ve yet to see an A-10 with four of them, usually it’s 2x AIM-9 on one pylon, and an ECM pod under the other wing.).
Aircraft stores in WT are in many cases not covering the full range the aircraft had IRL and over the whole range of their service life, so also here one could maybe say that the A-7E we have in game would be an “early” state of the aircraft (to not use the IMO in this context misleading term ‘variant’) before AGM-65’s were carried, whereas inversely the A-7D variant lacks the LANA FLIR pod that they later also carried (like the A-7E and A-7K in game).
So basically A-7D < A-7E (because that one has the FLIR pod) < A-7K (because that one has FLIR pod, better Mavericks, and better Sidewinders), and this is reflected in the BR.
I’d assume (but that’s really just how I interpret it), that if the A-7D would get the AGM-65B and/or D in addition to the AGM-65A, it could be argued that it would have to go up in BR. And if the A-7E got Mavericks, it also could be argued to be moved up.
So consider the aircraft that we have in game always to be a certain “state” of a type at a certain “point in time”, and not the final state after all upgrades the type ever had.
