Lol, lmao even
Beggin’ for Israel 2.0 will never be not funny

I mean, There are plenty of super broken vehicles in other trees, And they are typically premiums.
Its less Russian bias and more so premium bias.
Like lets not forget the T58, Or the XM1 when it was first added.
Or the Leopard A1A1 premium that has a better gun than the base A1A1 was the same BR for a while after being added.
And my favorite current example, The Swedish Sherman hybrid that massively outclasses the other 3.7 Sherman’s.
It really does.
Every worker gets paid, so every department is taking up certain amount of money and as such is detracting resources from the vehicular aspect of the game.
Getting rid of the Infantry department and then allocating that newly freed up money towards hiring more people for our current modes is simple and productive.
I mean if you list all additions and changes, more often than not Russia does get the benefit of the doubt while other nations get shafted.
Gaijin has never changed the models of vehicles for balance reasons. [I have no opinion on this fact.]
Same for weapons.
The only thing related to weapons that Gaijin has done is the following:
Upon a historical report being accepted & actioned on, if the historical report drastically changes the weapon [giving it IRCCM for example] Gaijin will wait until many/all tech trees have equivalent weapons before applying the fix for fairness.
Insinuating Mirage 2000 a Russian vehicle because it was given 4x Magic 2s after a photograph showed it.
Photographic evidence is & has always been accepted documentation for all vehicles in-game.
I see hundreds of posts a month of posts claiming NATO vehicles are Russian, usually unintentionally mind you.
Gaijin made sure to never be biased & create the best product among the 10+ competitors, which is why they have the playerbase they do.
Also no, they didn’t patent the control scheme, they patented their specific implementation.
This is why Starfield & Star Citizen use similar virtual joysticks as War Thunder.
Edit:
None of this is defending War Thunder, these are just statements of fact.
Literally Gajin:

Maybe for a few things at top tier but if you look at their low-mid tier they got plenty of big nerfs.
IS-2’s being the same BR as the US/German 6.7 heavies still baffles me.
For air the only real “Bias” energy i feel is with the Yak-9’s nuclear APHE 45mm’s but the rest of their props don’t feel over buffed.
The bomb rework was a giga nerf to the Pe-8 too.
Two-way datalink is not implemented for the AIM-120D
What about that video of the AIM-120’s Fins moving up to 30 degrees of AoA? That suddenly didn’t count.
Here’s photographic evidence that an ammo box that holds .50 ammunition and extra snacks shouldn’t disable the entire turret drive if a piece of shrapnel damages it.

So if a few pictures is what gets a weapon added it goes into the game? Like the Kh-38MT?
Okay Gaijin.

Add it.
Hurry up. Chop chop.
Documents don’t matter but pictures do.
You can shill for Gaijin all you want dude.
Watch out! He’ll come accusing you of the same thing!
Personally I think they suffer from a lack of objectives. (Same with all modes really). As it stands air battles is just a COD TDM match but you only get one life. You spawn in and just shoot until either you die or the enemy team dies. That’s the only objective. They were going in the right direction with Nuclear Escalation but as always they ignore a lot of feedback from it.
I believe more objectives like less PvP focused options like intercepting a formation of AI targets before they can get to your airfields or adding in larger ground objectives to attack with a focus on teamwork would help a lot. But also some features of modern day combat like AWACS and A-A Refuelling would not only help with immersion but give players more to do and the tools to do it.
The grind now is in a dreadful state. If you are a free to play player you will very likely never see the top tiers of the game within a year or even two. The grind forces players to spend money on premium vehicles and premium time but it only keeps getting worse and worse. There were some promising things like the RP boost for other nations when you reached top tier in another but Gaijin went in their own direction and made it pretty much negligible to the point where it isn’t actually noticeable. I feel lucky to have ground out the TT’s that I have already after playing this game for years because if I was to start over I wouldn’t bother playing this game.
It feels like we keep seeing a larger and larger amount of premium vehicles compared to TT vehicles with each update. This may or may not be true if you look at the numbers but especially with what premiums we see pushed onto us (more and more F-16’s, F-14D etc) it feels like Gaijin are more focused on seeing what they can add as premiums and get away with and focusing on the quantity of the premiums rather than the quality of them. For instance players were asking for a French aircraft for their rank 8 premium but instead they were given yet another F-16.
Whilst it may not be as prominent as some people believe there is a clear bias towards Russian equipment. Not only in vehicle balancing (cough cough BMPT, KH-38, Ka-50), but also in the bug reports where any old source is accepted to buff Russian equipment whereas valid and clear sources for Western equipment is denied on the ground that it isn’t valid enough. There needs to be some level of equality for what is accepted and what isn’t for all parties. One should not be favoured over another.
Currently the battle ratings are far too compressed. At the least we should be at 16.0 in my opinion.
Currently with the limitations in place on some vehicles being locked to inferior equipment or just downright wrong equipment for the sake of balancing it doesn’t feel immersive. I feel like this could be solved with BR decompression to allow for vehicles to get their accurate equipment or potentially a system to have dynamic BR’s based on modifications you have equipped, that way you get the choice of immersion or a fairer matchmaker for the vehicle.
Personally I’m in favour of infantry being added as it opens up the game to more possibilities for vehicle additions such as COIN aircraft, APCs/transports, armed transport aircraft (both helicopters and planes), and more infantry focused vehicles but also opens up the possibility for some better objectives throughout the other gamemodes like transporting AI infantry in air battles or having AI infantry integrated into ground battles.
But I feel like at current the potential of infantry is being wasted since Gaijin’s reluctance to go further back than the Korean War since Enlisted already covers WW2 but I think that WW2 infantry in War Thunder wouldn’t clash with Enlisted to the extent they believe and opens the possibilities again to go back even further into the pre-WW2 and even WW1 eras.
Definitely not, to see this you just got to look at all the feedback from the players on this very dev server and the lack of meaningful responses by the devs.
Honestly this is a very interesting set of questions and should get back some interesting responses.
Well done on making this engaging topic, hopefully the responses will catch Gaijin’s attention or the attention of more players.

bro, you don’t get it. If you break the detachable ice cooler on the Pontiac Aztec, you just can’t steer the car anymore.
Great post, I definitely think this does a good job visualizing the discontent in the community.
I’ll offer a quick comment on both TT and Premium vehicles, that I hope the devs will consider:
Regarding premiums: the premium bonus on a vehicle is often enough for players to buy them, just look at all of the two front tigers and He’ll pack Sherman’s we see in game. I think that it’d be good to see similar packs of visually modified, domestic, TT vehicles in the game for other trees, and at higher BRs. I saw a great suggestion on Reddit for a pack awhile back and will try to find it.
To this end, I also think making the flagship premium packs domestic vehicles is important, as for many, the premiums are a gateway to what makes each tree unique. The Benelux Leopard 2a4 and F-16AM are examples of terrible premiums that don’t exemplify a single thing that makes France interesting or unique.
Regarding the TT: I’d like to see some more intention behind what gets added. Great Britain has a massive SPAA gap that really needs filling, but we don’t see any progress on addressing that in sight.
Sweden got a new spaa this update and Israel got ANOTHER spike flinger, and I have to sit and ask if either of those additions is truly what those trees needed. In my opinion Israel really needs variety around 9.x, including a new cannon armed light tank or two, and Sweden could use stuff like a better top tier IFV instead of the spaa
Likewise France is getting a new stabilized BR 9.3 MBT, but instead of the AMX-30C2 (stabilized version of the b2) instead a slightly modified 1a5 was added. When I see stuff like this, it doesn’t feel like anyone sat down and asked, should we add this, are there any domestic alternatives?
Everything you need to know before you perceive the statistics of the forum
And yes, if you were to ask better, the answers would be: you need to do well, but you don’t need to do badly. To the question: what do you suggest? There will be two options: destroying the game by reducing the pumping of equipment several times and lowering prices (so that you can pump out the tree in 20-30 hours) or “I do not know, I am not a developer. Let the developer come up with a better idea, and I’ll evaluate it again.”
Is this some kind of coordinated operation for a new “wave” of criticism without justification in one of the best QoL updates that adds a bunch of cool mechanics? Why did all the bloggers and people abruptly, within a couple of days, start posting outright criticism and hints themselves? Funny.
I’m not saying that everything is perfect, but I see it all as very strange and suspicious, one might even say… a toxic calculation
By the way, you can open any veh with one prem in 2 weeks 5-6 hours of normal play. If you don’t want to donate, spend time on the marathon and buy a prem account for a year at wild discounts, and if you got a lot on the marathon, you can even buy several premium tanks/planes. What is the problem?
By the way, regarding weapons, send a request to the Pentagon so that it can create at least one air-to-ground weapon with a speed of more than one mach in 40-50 years.
I think we need several major new focal points, with a focus on Air RB:
1.) Decompress BRs: BR compression is rough everywhere, There is little leeway in 2.7-4.7 Air RB to add new meaningful additions, and 5.0-6.7 (Late WW2 and Superprops) is rough with compression, especially with more 1960s and 70’s trainers being added to 6.3-7.0; as for 12.7+ it is a disaster of certain 13.3 premiums dominating lobbies.
2.) Gamemodes, Objectives and Maps: nearly every Air RB match is a de-defacto team deathmatch, with no meaningful objectives or reason to play bombers or attackers (outside of attackers like the Do-335 or Wyvern abusing airspawns) part of the issue is maps are simply too small, there is little time to climb to medium or high altitudes (above 4000m) and gain a reasonable airspeed, so planes geared for those very high altitudes or bnz energy fighting are at a disadvantage compared to lighter low altitude aircraft. There is also too little room to maneuver to avoid being engaged or disengage from a disadvantaged fight.
3.) De-Mix battles and less copy-paste: I get it, queue times suck, but it sucks more when you have exact match-ups like a Swedish J26 (P-51) vs a US P-51D-30, or the updates with every tree getting the same vehicle like the M44, M55, or M109, making the experience repetitive and un-unique.
4.) Certain Model updates: Some models like the Ta-152H and Fw-190D-13 have horrid old models and texture and are in desperate need of an update. Getting new engine sounds are a nice-to-have as well for all aircraft; there are like 4 generic piston engine sounds for aircraft and the Wyvern makes my ears bleed because the high pitch and bad mixing drowning out all other audio.
As for what Gaijin should stop focusing on:
Less Top Tier: They need to stop trying to push new higher and higher tier vehicles, new metas, or new high tier-only mechanics. I’m tired of most of every new update being geared to the very to top ranks of the tech trees; Rank I-IV feels abandoned, with only occasional new unique vehicles.
i know its a nitpick at this point, but i might as well add this here.
blind hunt & avenger should not be as powerful as they are in ARB.
and if ARB either had respawns or was structured like a objective-based game mode (or both, aka, ARB EC), people wouldn’t cling to it as their crutch and wouldn’t defend it, despite being so blatantly overpowered.
That patent is just a loaded firearm ready to be shot at the first actual competitor to WT in order for the monopoly to survive, talk about shady.
Gaijin already said that most props they are gonna add are going to be premiums or event vehicles in that Q&A. They are essentially “done” with prop tiers. There will be no love besides making the gamemode worse.
Unironically bringing the D point system back for ground might actually be a good step towards diversifying objectives in ground battles
