War Thunder’s Birthday Sale in the Gaijin.net Store!

Here’s the thing, they’re not really rational reasons.
Grind? USA & USSR are the longest grinds in War Thunder.
Best 11.7 ground lineup? USA IF you get aircraft. Otherwise lowest grind for a great top ground lineup? Japan, Sweden, & China.
Best aircraft? All, you only have one spawn, all have great aircraft.
Helicopter support? All.
Navy? All that have a navy.

China is mostly unique on ground, I cannot comment on air at this time.

They are played less because people don’t know things.

They are rational. If anything, they’re subjective. My perspective versus yours in terms of interesting and fun.

US and Russia may have bigger trees to progress through, but they also have more premiums vehicles within each rank. Premiums that didn’t go on sale hence the frustration with this pack sale. Germany less so but still more than others.

“Best 11.7 line-up? USA if you have aircraft”. I would disagree, as I play 11.3 without aircraft and do just fine. This would be an example of subjectivity.

With one-death air battles, I’m not sure what your point is. Kit and performance still very much matter here. If your best aircraft is a whole BR lower than what it will get matched with and only brings in two or four Aim-9Ls (or two R-60MKs) and a mid-tier radar at best against 9Ms, Aim-7Ms, Aim-54s, R-73s, Python 3s, etc; sure a good player might make it work but those are not the majority of the player base (no offense to y’all, I’m not great myself).

These “less-played” nations are played less, not because people don’t know anything about them, but because they are just not that interesting and you can experience most of what they have to offer in the big three. As I said in my first reply, most of the vehicles in these nations can be found in the major three. How many nations have Shermans? A Panzer IV? A Mig-17/19/21? A F4 Corsair or P-51 or BF-109? An M48, Panther, or T-34?

No offense, but if you removed the copy and paste vehicles, some nations will have…probably less than 20-30 vehicles across both air and ground. Like the Finnish tree in Sweden wouldn’t exist anymore as it’s just Russian, American, and I think it has a Leopard so German vehicles.

If you enjoy them, cool. But if we are going to use this argument that “Gaijin might be trying to get more people to play these less-played nations” then we are acknowledging there’s a reason why and it isn’t because people don’t know about them. And how the biggest/most important sale that only targets them would frustrate some people.

Thinking about it now, I don’t think I’ve seen more than 6 KF-41s since it’s addition during my top-tier battles. An “interesting” vehicle Gaijin added to Italy under the Hungarian sub-tree in order to offer an attractive top prize for them and incentivize players to play Italy; that went on to only to just anger the player base because realistically it should’ve just gone to Germany.

Finnish sub-tree has at least 13 unique vehicles.

I don’t think that’s anywhere near accurate. In the ground tree I can only find the Vickers, BT-42, ItO 90M and ItPsV 90. In the air there’s the D.XXI, and…that’s it. Premiums/event vehicles add a few more, but it’s still not “at least 13”.

I forgot about the two SPAA, so that’s 15.
ItPsV90, ItO 90M, 2A6, 2A4, T-72M1 [literally no other T-72 uses its model], T-55M, T-34-85 [minor changes], Vickers MkE, BT-42, 2 DXX1s, B239 [different engine], VL Pyorremyrsky, Morko Morane, and J34.

Lol. Tiny changes to an existing vehicle do not a unique experience make. The 2A6, 2A4, T-72, T-55M, T-34 and B239 are all basically identical to other nation’s versions of those vehicles with one or two tiny changes that don’t at all alter how they’re played. The J34 isn’t even Finnish so I don’t know why you’re including that.

“Basically identical” is subjective, thus not copy-paste.
T-34 & M4 Sherman are played identically, that doesn’t make them “nearly identical”.

bro if you say that you put the same number of pack as last year its true but 4 or 5 packs from this year are 2,5 EUROS PACKS

It’s really not subjective. One or two minor changes doesn’t really affect how the vehicle is used. They’re the same chassis with the same armor and the same gun with the same capabilities, at the same BR. I don’t know how that’s anything other than copy-paste. Even if there are tiny changes to the external model, that really doesn’t matter.

Solid strawman too, because the T-34 and M4 definitely do not play “identically” unless you seriously don’t know what you’re doing.

How a vehicle is used doesn’t determine if it’s copy-paste.
The model, weapons, and/or powerplants determine whether something is copy-paste or not.
And no, T-34-42 and M4A2 play identically. Similar gun performance, armor, and speed.

How a vehicle is used IN CONJUNCTION with how it is equipped does though. And since the weapons and powerplants of all of those are all pretty much the same as their original counterparts, just putting a different name on it doesn’t change the core of what the vehicle is.

And no, they do not. Unless you can show me where the T-34 has a stabilizer, or how to get 500hp out of the 4.0 Sherman.

2A6 has a different turret & smoke system.
2A4 has a different turret & no dozer.
T-55M has a different hull, turret, ammo, and smoke system, wasn’t in the game prior to Finland.
T-72M1 has a different hull & turret, wasn’t in the game prior to Finland.
Vickers MkE wasn’t in the game prior to Finland.
T-34-85 has a different hull
BT-42 has a different turret, & gun.
B239 has a different engine. Fokkers are just there.
And so forth.

2A6: Turret is practically identical and the smokes are the most miniscule difference possible.
2A4: Turret is practically identical and literally no one cares about the dozer.
T-55M: Hull is the same, and the turret is still the same. It’s still a T-55, so its designation is mostly irrelevant. The biggest difference is that it lacks the Drozt, but that doesn’t have a huge effect on how the vehicle is used.
T-72M1: The hull and turret are, again, practically identical.
I never said anything about the Vickers.
T-34-85 Literally identical hull, just without the stuff stuck to it.
Again, never said anything about the BT
B239…maybe? Still the same airframe, still the same maneuverability, still four 12.7s, still 2.3. Fill the same niche with very few changes.

When people are talking about “copy-paste”, they’re not talking about vehicles literally being identical down to the placement of smoke grenades or whether or not there are fuel tanks stuck to the outside, they’re talking about how the vehicle acts, operates, looks, drives, etc. Together. The T-72M1 and T-72A play exactly the same while both being T-72s. The 2A6 plays exactly the same as the German 2A6 while both being 2A6s.

Then those people are using a personalized fake definition of copy-paste so it doesn’t matter what they think.

My brother in Christ, if 99% of a vehicle is copied, the 1% that is changed doesn’t make it completely new.

It makes it a new model for software purposes.
That’s still someone hired to do the modeling based on the research team’s discoveries.

lmao. Hire me then, I’ll ctrl+c then ctrl+v 99% of a vehicle into a new file. The rest of the team can do the 1%, but since I did 99% of the “modeling”, I’ll still get all the credit, right?

Nobody cares about “software purposes”, and that’s not what we’re talking about.

The point I was making could be better rephrased as “If they didn’t make it, they shouldn’t/don’t get it as this is filler”. So 80-90%% of what you listed would still disappear. Sweden/Finland didn’t make the 2A6, 2A4, T-55M, T-72M1, Vickers, T-34, etc. My point remains. The lesser-played nation’s “fluff” can be experienced in the major three, with better line-ups across the board. Which is why people were disappointed with this sales and I feel more and more safe in my assumption that December’s sale will still be lack-luster.

I agree with comments made at the start of this thread; just tell us what is going to be on sale at this point. Whether we have to wait or not, if what we are after doesn’t go on sale regardless, then you are no better off anyways. And Stona’s comment “no one does this anywhere” was just objectively not true. We still have 15 days until Black Friday here in the US and you can already find advertisements for what major retailers are going to put on sale.

You know… players that have played all 10 tech trees should probably be taken the most seriously in this regard.

Lol, you think quite highly of yourself, don’t you? “Well I have 30000 battles and no life so I must know better than you.” Get over yourself.

Guess what, I’ve played all 10 nations too, therefore my opinion is valid. I agree with Moka.
