War thunder losing it's indenity arc?

At this point i can’t think of a FPS that hasn’t lost it’s idenity or has a issue regarding it… War thunder was Based more around WW2 and you can see this in it’s ads but it’s intersting this kind of happending with Gaijin spliting it focus to Mordern Vehicles… Call of duty adding ice spice, Raindow 6 adding disabled people, War thunder adding anime? i am wondering where will this go, and these video show something.

War Thunder’s identity: Realistic war games sim irrelevant of era.
One of the first events was My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.

Nope, it’s still that identity.

I think I’ll use the Fox Pilot again soon.
As much as I love female snipers [wish USA had as many as the Soviets].

I think it once had a much more immersive atmosphere and moment to moment gameplay. When I first joined matches were allies vs axis and I loved that. I could play the Germans and fight Shermans, Churchills, Wolverines, Cromwells, etc or in the air I could fly the p-51 in the pacific against the japanese or the bf-109 over norway defending the coastal runway to the amphibious assault. Maps had real identity where each one was truly different because of the way the AI were scripted or the goals were set out. Gaijin has either by accident or on purpose removed this identity throughout the years and replaced it with a generic copy that has replaced that once immersive more authentic game. In that regard I think it has lost its identity yes.

Maps do need work, I agree on that. (Especially ARB maps), but I very much understand why they removed the historical MM, and agree with it.

(The nation v nation one)

If you want good air maps though, AB has a hella lot of em.

Even if you agree with it, you must also agree it is very bland and generic now compared to before, even if you thought the before was flawed.

AB isn’t my enjoyment in WT.

Eh, fair enough. I do genuinely think that the maps should be ported to RB though, since imo they would help a lot.

I just want better maps with proper objectives, or some sort of Rush style mode from Battlefield etc.

Imho the saturation of premiums and adjusting of maps to remove positioning as a valuable strategy has led to the disenfranchisement of many wt veterans, ground as a whole has become less enjoyable to play, and is now flushed with a majority of premium/squadron players who dilute the average skill level to an all time low, it’s all fun and games fighting idiots until they are the very same people you rely on to cover your flanks or watch objectives

If war thunder had a high octane game mode with the atmosphere of a battlefront/battlefield game then i don’t think it would ever feel monotonous again. I can still go back to battlefront 2 and have the same amount of fun as I did back in 2017, whereas I cant even bring myself to play my favourite vehicles outside of custom battles unless I am grinding for something

”Gaijin“
Japanese name since the very beginning

well actually this is blatantly not true because there is no caked up anime girl assistant in my hangar

War Thunder wasn’t ever focused on WW2. It was always a tank game.

The difference is, that they have started to neglect the WW2 side and early cold war side of things to prioritize the late Cold War to the Modern. Despite the ones who join, play a bit, do event a bit, and leave the game and don’t return.
