War Thunder is Going to die in 2-4 Years

We’ve just had a sale and new coupons/Vehicles will be hitting the market soon. Some vehicles on market currently usually dip around those times as people want GJN Coin to buy new stuff.

Finland, Denmark, and Norway do exist, and I recommend that you look at the casualty figures for the winter war :)

It’d have honestly been better if Sweden was implemented as “Kalmar Union” or simply Baltics/Scandinavia.

Let finland have the WW2 glory, let Sweden have the modern MBT and aircraft glory.

Eh, there are still some really cool WW2-adjacent swedish designs like the EH and DT, along with stuff like the Strv 74 and Pvkv M/46.

I do still want a lot more Scandinavian designs though, like native modified finnish designs and norwegian/danish stuff.

Friend, I understand you a little, I’ve been playing WT for a very long time, and to make you understand I’m attaching a photo that shows you what I used the first time to install war thunder. Sometimes I stopped for periods, because like you I saw all the rottenness within the project, I saw how Gaijin obviously being a company put profit before fun for the community, if the 2 things coincided then they made money from it both, otherwise gaijin must always make money first, because it is a company and this is a product, pay to progress, if you want to do it faster, otherwise you grind and in years of grinding you will make it, obviously there are people above all the new generations who they don’t care about propeller planes or WW2 tanks, they want modern vehicles, and to link me back to the previous sentence, gaijin exploits this to make money (because they are a company and this is a product as I was saying, for us it is a game, for them it’s an end to a means) and people who want the modern means have a way to get there faster. I agree with you that in this way you lose all that preparatory part of the energy combat that occurs with propeller-driven aircraft, or all that part of knowing where to shoot at each tank because each tank was different as with the WWII tanks, learning to understand the gun elevation, the distance, the projectile to use and the best point, using tactics efficiently because you had tanks that weren’t that fast anyway, I understand your frustration, but I also understand that war thunder it’s a broad game, and as such you have to find your oasis of happiness, comfort zone, where you like to play and feel comfortable playing, if you have friends to do it with it’s even better, but believe me don’t waste a second of your life to think of changing things by shouting in the forum, because they won’t listen to you anyway, and you will inevitably only give bread to the white knights who will immediately rush to say that WT is a perfect game and that it’s only you who has no skill. WT is not perfect, you will never be, but it has its positive sides, and comfort zones for anyone, it’s up to you to understand what this area is and make the most of it, and if the game dies one day then so be it.
Peace and love from an old gamer

That’s awesome that there’s actually a hard copy of the game.

Companies making money don’t “Burn Down”.
Products and services making money do not “Die in 2 - 4 years”

I don’t see anything constructive or even a remotely cogent argument in the entire thread. No one is either making you play the game or spend money, you have a choice. Honestly, no offense but it sounds like you want something for nothing. If you don’t want to play the game, then don’t - But this really is just a ranting sh*t-post sorry.

fair, but the problem is, the player base finds evidence to prove tanks aren’t real, or have incorrect stats on war thunder(not through leaked documents, leaking documents never helps), and yet there is nothing done about it.

An example I can think of is the merkava’s, the player base found there weight and armor is incorrect, yet to this day it remains to be unchanged.

Another example is the Ho-ri Production, which isn’t even a real vehicle, and its really good too, giving an unfair disadvantage to vehicles that face it, after all war thunder is based on real vehicles, not fake ones.

I feel like a rework on the system of bug reports on vehicles to me makes sense. The thing is even though we may not 100% know the real stats and best br for each vehicle, it would make sense to use to community to help correct and improve the game.

As for BR, br can be changed based on how good the veichle is at that br, if the vehicle is too good than raise the br, if its to bad than lower it, isn’t that what war thunder does rn or am I wrong?

Just don’t rush to top tier then? That simple?

Problem is, you’re adding next to nothing for WW2 enthusiasts. Pay2win Tigers, some prototype AAA, you break maps as much as you fix them.
No new gamemodes.
ULQ is still broken.
Air RB has not seen any significant changes since like 2014, other than AF AAA and match time. But the core gameplay is the same and pretty damn repetitive at this point, absolutely lacking any variety.

It’s OK if we consider WW2 just an obstacle to grind through. But soon even top tier may get stale as you’ve basically already added all major missile types. Yeah, you can change this and that, but there won’t be any revolution any time soon most likely.

I mean no, it serves its purpose fine and isnt an issue. New tiger packs are honestly great though, while they may be copypaste they give a clear lineup.

AFAIK this is done and was done in the past. Gaijin may be a bit sceptical of player provided info…not sure who is right on this, i assume it varies with each iteration.

This is also my opinion on several vehicles…i never like when a vehicle that i never knew existed suddenly appears everywhere…or on the “wrong” nation…

Yes, this is how it works…all BR changes are supposedly based on vehicle performance in game.

AGAIN…not all players agree with the points above…saw many skewed requests for “historical” changes, players that like prototypes and players that want BRs to be what they think should be, no matter what the real performance is.

I believe game has lots of room for improvment, and has things that are not as i would like them…but i don’t believe that the “player base” can get to any kind of agreement on any of these.
As to hearing the community…i believe this is what we are doing right now… :)

Sure! Share your thoughts—why do you think the map spawn point distance and game mechanics are the biggest issues? I’m here to discuss and help you analyze it.

1. Map Size and Spawn Points

  • Issue: Players using modern vehicles (top-tier tanks, planes, or helicopters) are restricted to a small portion of the map, sharing spawn points with vehicles designed for World War II scenarios. This design limits the immersive potential of modern warfare and creates a disconnect in gameplay.
  • Possible Solution: Gaijin could scale the map areas based on BR tiers, allowing for more tactical gameplay and giving modern vehicles room to utilize their superior speed, range, and systems. Additionally, adjusting spawn points to reflect technological differences might enhance realism.

2. Lack of Teamplay Incentives

  • Issue: The current reward system prioritizes individual performance (XP and Silver Lions), discouraging teamwork. Players often act selfishly, focusing on their grind rather than contributing to team success.
  • Possible Solution: Introducing better teamplay rewards could shift this dynamic. For example:
    • Extra XP or Silver for spotting, assisting, and coordinated actions.
    • Team-based challenges or objectives within matches.
    • A ranking system that factors in teamwork contributions.

3. Grind Modes vs. Professional Modes

  • Suggestion: Creating separate modes for different player goals could be a game-changer:
    • Grind Mode: Designed for players working on unlocking vehicles, with more forgiving matchmaking and mechanics to help progression.
    • Professional Mode: For experienced players who have completed their grind and want to focus on skill and teamwork. This could include stricter rules for entry, like requiring a minimum number of vehicles in the same BR range.

4. New Player Experience and Matchmaking

  • Issue: Allowing inexperienced players or those with only one vehicle (e.g., premium T-80 users) to join matches diminishes match quality. They often lack map knowledge, experience, and fallback vehicles, leading to early eliminations.
  • Possible Solution: Enforcing a minimum vehicle requirement for higher BR matches would help ensure players are better prepared. For example:
    • A rule requiring at least four vehicles in the same BR range to join top-tier matches.
    • Improved tutorials or introductory modes for new players to learn maps and mechanics before jumping into advanced tiers.

Overall Impact

Your concerns highlight the need for better balancing in progression, matchmaking, and map design. A thoughtful redesign in these areas could improve player experience for both new and seasoned players, while fostering teamwork and long-term engagement.

Proposed Solution: “Warfare Mode” for Veterans

  1. Balanced and Expanded Maps for Top-Tier Matches
  • Issue: Current maps are vast but underutilized, restricting players to small sections while ignoring the potential of diverse, large-scale battles.
  • Solution: Use the full extent of existing maps, adding multiple locations for engagements and objectives.
    • Examples: New zones for long-range sniping, urban combat, and flanking routes.
  • Spawn Point Adjustments: Align spawn points with BR ranges to reflect technological advancements, giving modern vehicles space to shine.
  1. Team Size Expansion
  • Issue: Current team sizes (often 16 vs 16) don’t fully exploit the potential of larger maps and modern combat.
  • Solution: Increase team sizes to 32 vs 32 for a more intense and strategic experience.
    • Larger teams allow for more varied roles, including dedicated air support, scouts, and frontline combatants.
    • Balance gameplay with adjusted respawn mechanics and diverse objectives.
  1. Entry Requirement: Vehicle Decks
  • Issue: Players with insufficient vehicle decks or experience often diminish match quality.
  • Solution: Require 4-5 vehicles within the same BR range to join Warfare Mode. This ensures:
    • Players have fallback options when eliminated.
    • Matches maintain a high level of engagement and intensity.
  • Introduce tutorials or lower-tier training modes for newer players to build their decks before accessing top-tier matches.
  1. Teamplay and Objective Focus
  • Incentivize Teamplay: Shift the emphasis from individual performance to coordinated efforts by:
    • Rewarding spotting, assists, and joint objectives.
    • Creating dynamic, team-based objectives, such as capturing multiple zones or defending supply lines.
  • Objective Variety: Introduce tasks like:
    • Protecting convoys.
    • Coordinated artillery or airstrikes.
    • Defending strategic positions.
  1. Grind and Skill Balance
  • Separate Modes: Offer distinct experiences for players:
    • Grind Mode: For progression-focused gameplay, with forgiving matchmaking and smaller-scale battles.
    • Warfare Mode: For veterans, featuring balanced and competitive matches on expanded maps.

Benefits of “Warfare Mode”

  • Enhanced Realism: Reflects modern combat scenarios with balanced spawn points, larger teams, and better use of map space.
  • Improved Match Quality: Ensures only experienced players with adequate vehicle decks participate, creating a more cohesive and tactical experience.
  • Increased Engagement: Veteran players can enjoy a rewarding and challenging mode, boosting long-term retention.

if they not change it, the game is dead soon. it is maybe still up becouse they make money, but filled with noobs only they also quit after they get the knowledge. depends on there IQ to understand what WT needs. But if i see the community right now from 2012 until now. they becfome more and more unexperinced, more selfish and much dummer like before
