So if the USSR tech-tree is not to receive a Czechoslovakia subtree, it should at the very lest receive post USSR nations vehicles right? Right now post USSR break-up we only have Russian vehicles. For example should USSR tree also get the Lithuania Vilkas as Lithuania was apart of the USSR.
Or would it make more sense to scrap the whole USSR tree and just call it Russia like the other nations?
Most post breakup nation generally try and steer clear from modern Russia, which I imagine is the reason they’re not being added. Czech vehicles correspond with the Warsaw Pact nations, which makes decent sense for the USSR TT, but post breakup the majority joined NATO. I don’t think gaijin want USSR players to have access to western weapons and vice-versa since it means less grinding for players.
Adding what are essentially, NATO vehicles, to the soviet TT is not only just bad for the game health, but probably gunna upset a lot of players.
I think the best idea is Poland or some other WARSAW pact nation being added as the primary, with WARSAW pact nations being added as a regional sub-TT. Kinda like Sweden is with Scandanvia (Norway, FInland and Denmark)
But it’s cool if western nations get Soviet stuff right?
Also if this were the issue, then don’t add any western gear, not like anyone wants it anyway.
I dont think anyone is enjoying the soviet C&P all over the place at the moment and would much rather such vehicles not be added in the first place.
But adding any WARSAW pact nation to the soviet/Russian TT (especially in the current climate) is probably not going to go down well.
So a Warsaw pact/eastern europe TT would be the best solution. Because I think Polish Abrams or Czech Gripens in the soviet TT would just be kinda stupid and at that point, you might as well just get rid of TTs altogether
I personally don’t care about the political nonsense people bring to the game, but unfortunately others do which is sad, thankfully Gaijin doesn’t.
I feel good about the future concerning a sub tree due to some things said on the Ru forum in the past, plus it just makes more sense.
Not particularly, but overtime I think there would be some space for another ex-Soviet nation to join the tree officially.
Don’t think I’m advocating for something right now.
I mean NK and Iran are both right there, maybe some states like Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan as they still actively cooperate.
But I believe the Baltics and Ukraine both have better places to be.
Putting western stuff in the USSR tree would only exemplify the problem and from what India and Romania is being treated like, original vehicles would mostly be relegated to event/premium fodder.
It would make more sense to ask for vehicles like the T-72M4CZ/M-84 instead of continuing to turn tech trees into sludge by adding western designs into USSR/Russia.
In my opinion, at the moment USSR should not have a sub-tech tree of any kind, if I could choose, a proper light tank line or at least best vehicles in this area in the tech tree should do the work.
Far from what I know, Leopards were made in West Germany, there are three T-72s outside the USSR tech tree, for instance there are seven Leopard 2s outside Germany tech tree.
Considering that an European tech tree is far from just an idea, should be enough to house other nations that are not in-game, either being eastern european or western european instead of cutting everything in small pieces in different tech trees.
Take the “United Nations” tech tree in World of Tanks as example:
I think its more stuff like the Strela and OSA slapped everywhere. You’ve also had the Mig-21 for Britain and now you have the Mig-29 for Italy as premiums. Im dreading that we’ll get something soviet instead of the Skysabre next major
I wonder why lithuania would join NATO and buy western equipment moment they werent in soviet union anymore, and not just orient themselves to Russia if they are such great friends.
