i’m not sure about next gen, but when next gen does come yes the 9X would be needed, but i’m more or less talking currently, and going off how gaijin loves picking and choosing which realistic aspects of things to add, i’m just saying either a modfication of an existing 9M/9L with (as a bonus) would have a better off rail reaction time or just reducing it entirely

never explicitly said it should come only for the F/A-18C early, i only stated that a good chunk of time when the aim-9M is used its in dogfights in general its mainly just to scare the opponent into doing something stupid while yes it still has its use there, its just in some cases the AIM-9 doesn’t really have the reaction time off the rail to be used to no greater effect than a decoy, and i only said having the 9X now would be neat but not necessarily needed, what could be a compromise would be a AIM-9 with, as a bonus, would be faster reacting off the rail, it wouldn’t be just for 1 aircraft, could be a modification of the Ls or Ms, so pretty much 12.0+ maybe only on the later Nato aircraft so 13.0+
This thing is the best 12.7 by a landslide, and the matchmaking allows 90% of your games to be in the 12.0-13.0 BR bracket, a really good position.
The gun, missiles, radar and RWR are superb for this BR and I don’t think there’s any other 12.7 that comes anywhere near as comfy as the F18.

the sparrows are ungodly awful, the rest is great though, I usually only take aim9L’s, I’m done trying to make sparrows work.
Skill issue, they have some game issues but to say they are “awful” is to miss that they are literally the 2nd strongest SARH missiles at the BR and still get kills easily…

If it gets 9ms it can go to 13.0, with only 9ls not really

The F/A-18C early has the same FM as the F-18A
The german premium one has the same FM as the F/A-18C “late” variants. It does have increased engine power but also increased weight, the FM is only marginally better and would not warrant higher BR than the US one.
The main difference is that it has double the countermeasures, but that wouldnt make it higher in BR either, especially with the current BR compression
