Ah yesss, 360* radar TWS on the su57 is just pure lovely
Im dreading the DIRCM personally
Either way they implement stealth, I still want them to add a way to fire on RWR targets for EFT and Rafale. Make life a living hell for stealth fighters.
That would definetly be useful. Especially if we got METEOR
You can counter it with launching 2 missile as they can only jam one at a time.
Unless the su57 put itself where both dircm can jam
Looks at MI-28NM
Looks at Gaijin
Looks at Su-57
You sure its gunna be like that?
and then there is the debate about whether it should do anything to IIR missiles
US has 2% higher win rate on top-tier than germany so germany needs buffs first though and nerf Italy, Japan, France and Russia since they have highest :D
Well shit then might ad well just add t-50
imagine F-4F ICE (EFT) vs F-16C(F-35)/Su-27SM(Su-57M) and F-16C vs. Su-27SM
But its not though.
F-35 is about on par to the F-16 right? in terms of FM and weapons load?
Well, is the F-16C equal to the Typhoon, Gripen E, Rafale etc?
If you take away the F-35s only meaningful advnatage, its screwed.
So what is F-35 vs F-22, Su-57 and J-20 gunna be like?
leaving out many important things i see. inherently biased comparison as well
errr what
It might, or it might not, who are we to say.
Example - su39’s radar pod. Without it its just the regular frogfoot, with it - you get decent and perfectly functioning radar, with all the high-tier A2A and A2G modes working nicely. I can not see why IRST would be any different really.
hes counting stuff for the UK typhoon that isnt yet in service like the radar. if we are going to do that then stuff not in service for the F-35 should be considered. also leaving out some defensive systems and not acknowledging how stealth makes the existing one more effective
Maybe… Maybe not.
Its a bit like how they still havent gotten internal Tpods to work at the same time as external ones. Whenever they have tried, its broken things. (Use to cause chaos on the Gr7 with its internal FLIR and the TIALD) and so even to this day, when you equip a tpod, it disables the internal option
I wouldnt be surprised if having 2 different radars (Which is all that IRST actually is in-game) would just cause issues.
In the Su-39s case, its going from no radar, to having an external radar. In the case of external IRST pods, its going from having a radar to having 2, currently they are bundled together, which is why they are labeled things like CAPTOR_M_PIRATE for example (or something like that, I cant recall the exact file name off the top of my head) .
Only thing is radar, which has been in service for a few years now. Sure ECRS Mk2 specifically is 2-3 years out, but its not totally far fetched either.
Everything else is correct
well F-35 can get AIM-260 and Sidekick then. the F-35’s IRST is more advanced than the Typhoon’s, like i said he doesnt mention how stealth makes countermeasures more effective, and he does not mention the F-35’s newer towed decoys, the radar is only really better in gimbal too and anyways F-35 should be considered with its newer APG-85
Yeah makes sense. I sure do hope the reason we dont have that yet (and by extension some TGP’s working as IRST pods, iirc thats a thing?) is them just waiting for IRST being ungimped for once.
What did I leave out? Feel free and I will edit it to include it.
Then the Typhoon can get Meteor-ERs?
Congrats? Its also 20 years newer. Will be interesting once we get the specs on the new PIRATE.
But that is entirely operating on the basis that stealth will be at max strength. What if it isnt? Or what if you are fighting something else with stealth like say an F-22?
Does the F-35 still beat an F-22?
Typhoon has TRDs too, I dont know much about that them, but do you know they are specifically better?
If so, can you provide sources for both?
its actually older though?
But do you have stats providing its better than ECRS Mk2?
