I dont know about you guys but i hate uptiers and i think there needs to be a new system for some battle ratings to prevent uptiers or uptiers from going to high up ( so instead if a 1.0-2.0 uptier you could only get a 1.3 or 1.7 uptier). I feel like 2.3, 2.7, and 6.7 all new some system because my italian 47mm cannon should not fight a sherman with a 75mm and my Pershing or M18 do not need to fight the Maus or IS-3. I was think a max uptier for 6.7 of 7.0 and for 2.3-2.7 BR range to not be able to be uptiered because once again a full uptier to 3.3 or 3.7 is ridiculous i cannot fight Shermans or T-34’s with a 47mm or 40mm.
welcome to how every one feels about up-tiers, gaijoobles likely will never change it. but I’m also pretty sure the max are 1.0 up-tiers but idk, I haven’t gotten a 3.7 up-tiers ever. So idk
Wdym? Like to 3.7 or up by 3.7 sorry im a bit confused.
I shoot sorry I didn’t really read it I thought that you meant like a 3.7 up-tier not getting up-tiered to 3.7. But idk man I haven’t played anything below 5.7 in a FAT fat fat minute, so idk
Oh i see thanks for clearing that up.
I had an idea for this but the suggestion thread never got past pending.
I call it “Contingency Crews” and it’s a system by which a given number of your crews are designated as contingencies and only available in the event of an uptier.
Say for example you want to play a 4.0 line up, and you have 7 crews available. If you then take 3 of those crews, designate them as “Contingency Crews” and give them vehicles at 4.3, 4.7, and 5.0, they will only be available if the match you get is an up tier.
So if you have your main line up of 4 crews with 4.0 vehicles, and you get put in a 4.7 match, your contingency crews with 4.3 and 4.7 vehicles will be available, but your 5.0 crew will not.
I hope that makes sense.
If implemented it would be entirely optional, but it would give people who use it more of a fighting chance in an uptier match.
That would probably make the teams less balanced unless the matchmaker also took those contingency crews into account.
But not only would that be much more complex, having those crews would also mean you are likely to get an uptier to your highest contingency crew, because the matchmaker wants to balance the availability of the highest tiers between teams, and most players that are new or grinding new nations, would not have the same contingency crews available.
The ones with the contingency crews would be a minority, and as such end up in uptiers anyway. So you want to play 4.0, but more often than not you end up on 4.7 or 5.0 because of your extra crews.
I hope this makes sense. The matchmaker would punish you by forcing you into the BRs you are not aiming for, and then you only have 1 vehicle for that BR while the rest of your line is lower.
In my system the Matchmaker would ignore contingency crews entirely, as if you did not have any vehicles there, meaning it would be functionally the same as not using all your crews as far as matchmaking is concerned.
That would be really nice. But maybe you could select a different line up because bringing that many vehicles would be expensive is selecting an different line up basically what contingency crews is?
