Uptier Bug

As much as I want to agree that uptiers seem to be the default…

For there to be a full uptier, someone somewhere is getting a full downtier

What is happening is that some BRs just get sucked up to popular BRs all the time, usually due to premiums. At the moment for example 9.7+ will probably always face 10.7 due to the BMPTerror spam and because of how OP that tank is, I think a lot of people are playing 9.0/9.3 to avoid it, which is resulting in 8.0/8.3 being dragged up quite a bit too.

and I use to exploit the opposite. Back when the clickbait and co were 11.7, 10.7 use to always get dragged up. So instead i played 10.3 and got downtiers quite often. It was lovely. I miss those days

But you dont actually state what BR you are talking about. So cant comment on what the nearest blackhole might be

Though I do agree that +/- 0.7 MM would be awesome. It would fix sooooo many balancing issues instantly

This thing came from Bosnia son! You ever been to Bosnia? You ever been in this shit. Well my grandpa was and he lent me this buttplug.

±1 is just the Cancer of the games wich ruins everything not even the russian bias can compete with it.

But somehow every game I PLAY GETS ME TO AN FULL UPTIER

If I play 10 games on an evening I WILL GET 10 UPTIERS
tf is this shit

What BR and Nation are you trying to play?

Germany, US and Russia and sometimes France

And I get an Uptier EVERY SINGLE ROUND

Uptier to +0,3 is ok
to 0,7+ is bad but still a chance to Pen
+1 Whole new generation 30 Year Difference and I get sniped in my prop plane by some Radar AA from the 90S

I’ll just copy paste my answer to a similar complaint from someone else:

You might also be misunderstanding what an up tier and a downier is based on this comment:

When you queue up with for example a 10.0 lineup you have 4 different matches you can end up in:

9.0-10.0 (full down)
9.3-10.3 (down)
9.7-10.7 (up)
10.0-11.0 (full up)

So the “+0.3” comment you made means that you’re in a down tier, not up.

I’m sure genuinely people just use the term uptier meaning BR that is above there selected BR. so using a 10.0 vehicle most would say your in an uptier if there is 10.3’s in your battle and a full uptier if there are 11.0’s

I’d always say it like
9.0-10.0 (full down)
9.3-10.3 (up tiered)
9.7-10.7 (up tiered )
10.0-11.0 (bottom feeding)

But that’s exactly what I preach how people perceive it, even today, after over a decade of this game: 75% of all players feel they’re uptiered, and blame gaijin, when it’s just a mathematical fact.

Well, it would be 25%-25%-25%-25% for all BR’s in a match if everything was homogeneously distributed, but in WT this varies quite a lot dependin on what BR’s are played more frequently.

But reducing the spread to 0.7 would only mean it’s now 33.3%-33.3%-33.3%, the majority of people still feels uptiered all the time, but at the expense of less interesting, less varied vehicle compositions and longer queue times.

So why is this 13.0 to 14.0 team fighting our mostly 14.3 team? Even if the SU-34 is squaded with one of the higher BR guys this is ridiculous.
Can you blame them for being salty when their top planes are F-15Es and F/A-18 against 6 Rafs and an EFT?

Sometimes lower BR vehicles can be seen in higher BR matches if they are teamed up with friends with higher BR vehicles, it’s the highest BR vehicle of the squad that is used for queueing up for a match in those cases. The only 13.0 i can see on their side is the SU-27 (please correct me if i’m wrong), so likely he is teamed up with friends.

Not only that, but as i understand it there should only be 4 players in each team that are of the highest BR of the match. So in a 10.0-11.0 match there should only be a max of 8 players total that are 11.0.

I don’t recall if he was squaded, but regardless, that match still has 7 14.3s (and the most OP ones at that) to none, even if that was a 14.3 match and pulling up people from 13.3, you can’t really call that fair.

I think the absolute top BR’s are handled a bit differently than others in matchmaking. Which makes sense as otherwise the 14.3’s would only ever be 4 on each team and always in a constant down tier. So removing the limit for amount of 14.3 there can be in a team makes sense if that is what is happening.

But i also think that making the spread 0.7 instead of 1.0 at that top BR would also make a lot of sense and likely not extend the wait times any meaningful amount either.

I get max BR can get a bit different and you can have full teams of max BR or just a few lower planes mixed in, but shouldn’t it at least put max BR planes on BOTH teams? One team getting all the max BR planes in the match is a bit busted IMO. It looks like it tried to average the BRs by putting more 13.7s on our team… but it doesn’t really help when the 14.3s have more then enough missiles between them to take out the whole enemy team on their own, it would have been far more fair to split the Rafs.
