Update 2.57.1.111

True. They didn’t poll anyone when they changed AB aiming or damage control and those were huge changes affecting every single naval player.

Once again it feels like fighting to try and stop the snail of doing something stupid to their game, namely the only really good naval gamemode.

If they want to make it more accessible, fine. Bring more players to it. im all for that. Make it available 24/7, rejoins and leaving constantly possible, then deal with the snowball effect of players amassing sp in op ships and pushing whole teams out of the match.
Making it so that anyone that has it can respawn THE most op ship endlessly anyhow doesnt seem like the move should that be the goal, chief.

Implement the good parts about the patch. cut out or rethink the stupid ones.

Im not going to play 4 human player ec matches that last 3 hours vs 90% lobotomized bots. Period.

But the polls I’m talking about are recent; the ones from the past are different. (old uptade) who not have done an a survey

I am not replying to anyone, just kind of expressing my thoughts to a group of like thinkers I guess.

To be clear I don’t want to see the naval branches split to where I cant use my torpedo boat to sink a destroyer. I also do not want to try using a fast destroyer to get to the D point on a map like Dover Strait and start attacking Players, AI as well as the coastal defenses to try and take that point only to have an 8.7 battleship spawn right on top of me due to its unlimited possibility. But the question still has to be asked, how many of us have taken a torpedo boat and rounded the corner on something like the Des Moines or used that Des Moines to try defending yourself against the Bismarck? It is not a good time regardless of your skill level!

Then we have map size. Who is going to take a slow Battleship across the entirety of Dover Strait more than once. The fear here is they will just turn into point bunkers you can not move and will not move.
There was a conversation about not spawning in the same place twice. This is not ground, if you don’t then you just surrendered your point to the enemy.
We all know there are torpedo nets around the spawn points which keeps enemy torpedoes from coming in, but yours are not going out either. So again we are back to, how are fast attack craft supposed to defend the spawn areas or fend off the incoming assault?
These 8.7 Battleships also brought in Korea and Vietnam era jets that we have no counter for. So what is to keep someone from just spawning into an airplane and never getting out?

While i agree with most points:

Sure theres ships that basically arent usable for that due to low top speed.
On every single match on dover strait i played in the last couple of weeks several people have crossed the strait each match. About half the attempts resulted in a succesful cap on the other side. IIRC i crossed it twice in one match.

It is about 30 km width at its narrowest part. the most viable ships for this task go 60 kph and the top tier BBS at least 50 kph in yamatos case. That means 30-40 mins of sailing, during which you most likely will have to defend your port, or fight enemy ships crossing from the other side. And thats shore-to-shore. You already spawn1, sometimes 2 km from shore iirc and if the enemy team wants to defend their port you will have to start fighting enemy bbs when youre still 15 to 10 km from their shore. That makes 30-1-15: 14 kmk of sailing until youre in a reasonable engagement distance to their nearest harbor. And thats only if they are no enemy ships in between. Sailing 14 km at 60 kph during which more often than not you have other stuff to do is not too much to ask imo, for a gamemode that keeps somewhat reasonable engagement distances compared to slop RB.

For players that dont wanna do that: theres usually closer range spawns popping up/changing something like every 15 minutes.

Only thing that would be cool would be having more viable tasks for your floatplane to do while youre sailing across. But well. We need supersonic jets at ww1 and ww2 BB matches as ai targets…thing is, how should a somewhat realistic naval game look like that doesnt change engagement ranges of the ships, their speed, maneuverability, their ammos muzzle velocity or pen ratios? Naval engagements irdl took hours to a day, sometimes even days due to speed of ships compared to how far the shells travel. Its literally impossible to have the ships move at their actual speed, in and out of their massive engagement ranges of up to 30 (or even more km) but still have action every 30 seconds. Due to the nature of the vehicles it will be inherently slower and more chill and thats what lots of people that do like it appreciate about it. Unless you would make the ships move 3 times their speed like they were on rails with shells travelling 5 times their actual speed. The WoWs way. Id hate that.

Maybe further speed increases in arcade might work for even quicker action idk. But realistic should be realistic. Thats why i play it. Not to instantly start shooting every time i get pooped into the ocean because every time several enemy ships already have to be at my minimal engegement distance.

the pt are invisible in a certain range rember there’s cold war warship who are incorrect and dont have all armament but he can intercept the ai over the d4 or the player the missile he reach even if are unrealistic,
for balance need you have like 4-4bb 3-3 heavy 3-3 light ecc for balance and dont see an a only team with 8 8.7 and you with your team have 1 8.7 and 5 8,3-7,7/3 this is fixing issue not the shit upper

We could also talk about the mine nerf If i remeber they disappear 30 minutes after being placed, if they removed those limitations, you could set a trap for enemy battleships.
edit:

you create an a system like this on ex who not disappear in various zone of map wanna see if an a convoy of ship direct to your cap zone will go full speed in this trap (dont see the icon he not capable to add the mine icon but you will see only torp)

I think mines still hold like 15 minutes and with the lower BRs that would bring the 3.3ish mine layers in. That would and could be a solid defense.

It’s been a long time since I played EC.
And yet I loved it so much… I met fantastic people, exceptional players and individuals…
Unfortunately, the toxic behavior of some players ruined what for me was the definitive game mode.
The final blow was the introduction of BR 8.7, which completely killed all intermediate BRs.
Why enter the game with a BR 6.0 or 7.0 if you’re just a few SP away from 8.7 and literally devastate the entire battlefield?
This significantly increased the toxic behavior of some players, which has been reported several times, because it’s clear that whoever reaches the maximum BR first, dominates the game first.
Rather than penalize these people, they decided to modify this mode by introducing some limits (correct in my opinion, such as a timer for spawning with the same ship, in the same place) and to separate BRs like any other arcade or realistic naval battle.
However, the EC player base is tiny and further fragmented by the introduction of BR separation. The introduction of bots is effectively the fastest and most convenient solution possible for filling the queue and starting a match.
I appreciate that GJ has worked on EC and tried to reduce the problems (mainly caused by toxic behavior from some players) that have plagued this mode for years.
Unfortunately, the actions taken will only dilute the already small EC player base across multiple games with different BRs, making the game extremely boring in my opinion…
I’ll try playing a few games…
