So… because facing 8.7s in 8.3s is a problem, the solution is to… (checks notes) face 8.7s with 6.7s and 5.0s?
Yeah ? But the real solution was … A good matchmaking !
Like if there is 1 8.7 in a team, another should be there !
And not like it was like 9 8.7 in a team and 0 in the other ?
Is the bugged top tier nuke carrier issue going to be fixed any time? If you play US and probably other nations too at 8.0-8.7, if you spawn using Quick Spawn, you get a full fuel B-57B that spawns on the airfield, can barely even takeoff because it also has chaff pods that don’t work… But if you j out and spawn the nuke, you actually spawn the B-57A with minimum fuel, no useless crap attached to your plane, and ABOVE THE AIRFIELD. So basically Quick Nuke spawn = you ain’t getting the nuke, Non-quick nuke spawn = you might get the nuke.
I’ve reported the issue 2-3 times already…
Now, because everyone can spawn 8.7 with no limits, those joining 8.7 matches will be bringing… 8.7 vessels.
This is way more balanced than the previous situation where only a lucky few could spawn 8.7s while everyone else was on 6.0-6.3s with unfortunate others being stuck on 5.0s.
This is very concerning and I have not had a chance to log in today and see what this means exactly…On one hand this is awesome because like the rest of Enduring Confrontation you just purchase your way in with SL and use the vehicle you have chosen, but the rest of EC/SIm has pre-planned BRs to keep F-14s from fighting Il-2’s. I really do hope this does not mean that from the beginning people can spawn in with a Battleship! Or keep doing so over and over again! That was already a huge problem for folks who did not have that high of a BR, or joined the match late. These players are already behind and will never be able to compete with the Kongo setting outside their spawn while using a Moffet or whatever destroyer they have. Sure now they could just purchase a premium Battleship and use it, but then what is the point of EC or the tech tree at all.
Just to be clear, I am happy to see updates and improvements to Naval EC as well as lowering the BR’s for entry. So for that I thank you and this is all good news… Not really Naval EC is open 7 days a week news so it becomes the only naval mode, Or we are getting Submarines news, but good news nonetheless.
My 8.3 ships do not say this at all. Cannot deal against 8.7.
1- And again, would 5.0-6.7s be somehow more helpful against those 8.7s than 8.3s?
2- Bismarck, Nagato and South Dakota are 8.3. You really saying that these cannot deal against 8.7s?
BBs are chasing BBs and lighters, that their purpose.
Yeah, 8.3 cannot deal against 8.7.
Soyuz overpen everything. Cannot be sunk.
Yamato cant be sunk after 13k. Only hull will lead to sink her,
Iowa is like soyuz, but weaker.
Bismarck is a paper, roma and all other 8.3 are paper against them.
they can be ammoracked really easily.
Oh, Bismarck apparently struggles against Iowa.
Therefore, the solution is NOT to be able to spawn Bismarck and, instead, be forced to spawn an Emden against the Iowa. Definitely the Emden will have better chances than the Bismarck. Not like Emden is obliterated by early match Mogamis already anyway or anything.
I’m sure you are the guy spawning at the same place when he dies again and again …
There are some strategies, but seems like you forgot about this.
Like spawning in another place, using another ship like coastals, torping.
Using a plane too.
And a 5.3 destroyer can kill a mogami :)
Then i saw many destroyers sinking BBs, with torps for exemple, or depthcharges . The only way to win is strategy.
I edited one of my posts further up that u might not have seen yet so ill repost it again @SPANISH_AVENGER :
And yes, it wasnt exactly perfect. Especially if the choice of respawn points was poor. The question is: Is that worse than being able to respawn the most op ship to ever be introduced to the game without any cost at all? If theyd somewhat keep the SP cost system, but flattened it a lot, and within several BR brackets that are independently played from each other, that might work. Lets say high bracket: 7.3 to 8.7 (just as an example, no real thought put into the exact cutoff): 7.3s and lower (that you can still bring, bc why not? Some of the most powerful ships in the entire game are 5.0…Hello Shimakaze my beloved) spawn for free, everythign higher needs at least some sp to spawn, but not the huge amounts you need now? Could that work? And killing anything below 7.3 doesnt give SP at all to 8.3 or higher BR ships. Just SL and RP. starting at 7.3 they earn you sp but the curve is increasing exponentially. You could still bully 7.3s and 7.7s in a sojuz or iowa ofc. But your ability to keep doing that and respawning multiple times would be severely affected by doing only that. While they can still severely damage you, distract you and bring you down in a long term multiple spawn effort.
Problem is, still, Iowa and Sojuz (and long range yamato that doesnt let anyone get close) are so far above any competition for the average player that a very good player is basically untouchable for anything that is not 8.7. And he doesnt even have to have a good run to simply respawn it. He can get unlucky 3 times in a row, run into every torp he can find. Sit still when theres a bomber approaching, have his aa turned off and let coastals with torps and depth carges sail right next to him.
As long as respawning those comes with 0 costs what is stopping the biggest tryhards from playing only these? I tell you, nothing is stopping them. I speak from experience of being an occasional tryhard. They will ruin most matches and give 0 fawks about it. And everything that is not exactly those two ships, Iowa or Sojuz, will simply not be worth playing.
What can I say at this point? I guess this is a matter of preference after all.
Maybe you guys enjoyed spawning tiny botes even if it meant being in a severe disadvantage and keep dying until your torpedo spam or luck could grant you enough SP to spawn an actual Battleship, but my primary interest is Battleships themselves, so I’m just glad I can now actually simply play with them.
ON PAPER, I always liked the concept of a combined naval mode, hoping it would be something like Battlestations: Pacific, where every vessel class had a meaningful role on the battlefield. In War Thunder, however, it’s much simpler: bigger is better, and bigger ships simply stomp smaller ones. As a result, there can be no meaningful balance between the different classes.
In BSP, every vessel had a distinct role. In WT, smaller ships ultimately just become stepping stones toward the bigger ones and then serve only as cannon fodder to them. So I’m simply glad I no longer have to be one of those stepping stones and cannon fodder.
That was the case. Until now. A sojuz investing 30 min to sink your emden at 17 km range that is using smoke, running away and evading is a waste of his time better spent elsewhere to actually win the match.
Some of the most dangerous ships in the entire gamemode are 5.0. I have single handedly defended ports with only a shimakaze vs 4 or 5 battleships (and some allied destroyers that went in as distraction and cannon fodder - youll forever be remembered, we stronk as one!). Their whole attack. Bang Done Owned to one destroyer respawning on the cap 4 or 5 times and them not being able to sink me before i was out the torp nets or them being too greedy and going inside. Im not even sure but iirc that might have turned the whole battle to where my team had a chance of fighting back again. While possibly winning anyhow because they didnt care for us having 2-3 players doing air tasks.
Sure, you could call that scummy and i would understand, you could raise the point that thats only possible for a selected few nations in that efficiency. But still it was possible. Torpedos, Bombers and distracting were the counterplay vs battleships if you had no other options, with a meaningless death as the worst possible result for you. Rather realistic i would say (well a bit macabre considering the meaningless death, not so much for the war effort of an entire nation though if you think about it)
What is the purpose now for the 100s of ships that will be sitting at the lower end of their respective BR brackets?
And dont get me wrong, battleships are also my primary interest. But im grateful for discovering the power of a well played destroyer and its strenghts and sometimes even having to play those. They could have implemented more and easier ways of gaining SP, they could have implemented a way of slowly gaining sp automatically if youre not in a top BR battleships, they could have implemented a mechanic that lets you gain SP easier if you joined the match late or if your team is behind in tickets, they could have implemented more mechanics and things to do to gain sp. FK sake i can come up with ideas like these in my completely overslept brain in 15 seconds…But this? srsly? Who at gaijin is responsible for the development of naval ec? why is there no actual testing to changes like this before it just gets presented as done deal and BAM the naval ec community has to deal with their favorite mode getting absolutely curbstomped. No collecting of ideas beforehand. No testing announced. No polls, 0 contacting of the community beforehand. Slopped into the game in an almost classic move devoid of comparison.
If anyone can play the most powerful thing as often as he wants whats the point of all the others that are not the most powerful thing? Which, as im sure youll agree on- are every single one but the one. THE MIGHTY.
fantasuz.
Ok
This will stop me playing EC.
Bots are stealing kills.
that why the reason i stopped playing regular matches. And it came in EC.
Enough
Im not even going to test it. No need to. I already know its going to be horrible and ill never play it again. Sad. But expected from gaijin for an actual good naval gamemode thats not done deal in 5 minutes and takes actual planning, tactics and strategies.
@Stona_WT @Smin1080p_WT Can we know why there was such a sudden change without any warning or community consultation—resulting in crap decisions that ruin a game mode? Why didn’t the devs run polls beforehand (even in-game) for major changes like this, the way you did with previous surveys? I’m increasingly baffled by how we always seem to take ten steps backward and never ten steps forward.
They do this to regular naval matches which have many times the playerbase. This isn’t new.
Farm bots like they do in random battles.
Yeah, but they ran polls on two pieces of nonsense like asking the community if they liked the year’s updates, or that one about realistic markers (which are trivial things) yet they never ask for opinions on major changes. It’s always ten steps backward.
