Completely agree! Gaijin’s default sounds were the entire reason I pivoted away and used sound mods. The weirdest thing now is that whenever a M163 fires, it sounds like it’s right beside me, when I’m in the air.
Whatever their issue is, lets hope they seriously look at some of the mods out there “cough” RCSM, to see what their sounds could be. For now I’ll just have endure their dull lame sounds, especially their jet and prop engines.

Until the issue was resolved, it should have been sufficient to simply continue saying, ‘Please either delete that MOD or check with the MOD’s creator’, as before.

The actual sound problems, like tanks not making engine noise until theyve shot at you, are still there, even after having my mods disabled. The same stupid issue that’s been plaguing the game for years. But yeah, im sure disabling the mods will just fix everything at once.

The hit analysis is client based and doesn’t always show the correct things that actually happened. Compare to the Server replay to see where you actually hit.
Sounds like your mods that you have, give an advantage and that upset you.
I’m glad PC users are getting closer to the “console treatment” I hope next they disable your custom sight mods.
If we don’t get the same sights you do, then you shouldn’t get them at all.

Nah, it needs to be 50/50 or none at all. Unless console users can use these mods, for fairness they need to remain disabled.
Was there again abuse of sound mods to get a 360deg sonar system to uncover enemy vehicles?
I don’t know if their is a mod out there that turns up enemy vics. However, for the custom sights, Gajin added the ability to change what sights you want from a selection they put in game, that are based off of real tank sights. Unless your talking from the live custom sight section on the website, which I don’t know how a sight could give an advantage.
Please dont start saying things i never said. 1. i dont use engine sound mods, because they actually make it worse for me. 2. I said what i said because i reported audio issues on vanilla client 3 times, tickets all got closed, one time the guy managing the tickets literally misread it and closed it automatically, thinking i was using mods while i clearly WAS NOT and stated it clearly as well. Quite amusing really. Also just buy a pc atp, or dont complain about “muh disadvantage”.
Honestly, there are a few realistic sights that just “debloat” the default sights, make it easier for me to use. I have the historical ww2 sights on my 76 shermans and, imo, its better than the default one.
This is the perfect example of what’s been going on for at least 2 years. Instead of focusing on this crap, they just nuke every mods that had nothing to do with the issue. Add insult to injury, the so called “volunteers” that manage the tickets actually act like a rampart against this getting to the devs rather than passing them along.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that the mods are also gone for some other issues as well, but it’s still massively overkill and I bet it still won’t fix the actual issues anyways.
Will say this now Enlisted is in the same boat they had their sound mods disabled as well
Some sound mods I’ve used in the past had quite distinctive missile noises that meant you could hear when a missile was fired at you at short-ish ranges which means that in something like SB you could gain an advtange at some BRs.
No idea about for ground though.
But there are other reasons to use sound mods, like properly modeled RWR and VWS on aircraft which is just awesome
Some use it to locate enemie tanks, its no secret. Everyone knows these issues. You’re sneaking around the map to shot some antagonists into the rear armor, but they already wait for you … pointing the gun already directly towards the corner you wanted to use to surprise them. Over distances which should hardly reveal your engine sound to them. Some soundmods even make idling engines loud enough you might pick them up from distance. Some of the more well known youtubers, which always show flawless games, make me also think they have extended knowledge of enemy tanks. Ofc its never shown in any stream, but the way they’re always pointing their turret / gun towards enemy positions is fishy. As if the know something is going to pop out from this corner or whatever.
I mean I can do the same with a good headset that has surround sound
Yeah, if people complain that much about sound mods, then they should also complain about the ability to adjust the volume of your vehicle vs other player vehicles
People don’t check the Options > Sound menu and then self-report that fact with hilarious frequency.
