I was still considering to use a sound mod, but thanks gaijin I don’t have to worry about that anymore LOL
Maybe it would be good if the game itself had more realistic sound and rwr (instead of relying on mods)

According to jet tier players, it also gave advantage in missile thunder brackets of sim (people changing cockpit sound and missile sounds to gain a 6th sense).
Thats pretty much myth.
It can… year or 2 ago I had EpicThunder installed and I definetly found that I could hear missiles being fired from short range much more clearly than I could without, which then allowed me to react as if I was looking over my shoulder and seeing the launch.
Though it wasnt perfect and the target had to be pretty close. Im sure its possible to create a more extreme version where the warning was obvious and had greater range, but no idea if that does actually exist or not
I now use IASM and i’ve not noticed the same level of awarness from that, though not played much of the BRs where you have short range IR missiles (9.7-10.7 area) in SB with it yet
So I wanna set something straight. It sounds like gaijin is changing things with FMOD and stuff, but will sound mods be able to continue like before? I use OPEX and it’s amazing, but the features it has are more than vanilla. Would those be able to carry through?
it’s annoying to see the situation. I really hate those standard and no-sense sounds in game. Hope it’s getting fix soon.
Mixed crews voice of movies/games is way better than gooner thinks.
Please make it easier for us to update sound mods after each update ♥
They could do with getting rid of those squeeky teeny voices as well…
the pantsir sm-sv has issues with its tracking radar. can this be looked at? thanks
I was experiencing issues with my sound mod that caused the game to crash specifically on the European Province map. Interestingly, it only happened in the city area and nowhere else. It took some time to identify the cause, as no other fixes worked. Once the CBT started, I disabled the sound mod and I haven’t experienced any crashes on any map since then. Because of this, I am all for making sound mods better and more stable.
That’s not true! Either you let yourself be fooled and are spreading false information, or you just failed to check the facts.
This is a terrible change. I’ve never had issues with sound mods, and never heard of anyone having issues with sound mods. How about just putting a notice at the start, “If your game is having stability issues, try disabling sound mods while we work on fixes,” and not punish 99% of the player base for the 1% having issues.
Disgusting behaviour
facts tho same here
By disabling sound mods, they’ve practically made the game unplayable. The original sounds are so awful that it’s impossible to play this crap normally. My wallet remains closed.
Your approach was wrong. Thats like if players using a GTX 1060 had crashes and you guys just stopped everyone with all other graphics cards from playing the game because the GTX 1060 players were crashing. The example is an exaggeration, but it’s still an example. Anyways, may the changes be positive, we wait.
It is not because of that reason. Or else they can disble just THOSE sounds from being modified, what advantages can you get from a simple voice mod?
honestly, i have used a gooner mod for a long time now, mixed with rcsm or whatever the other one was and a crew voice from yet another mod. the gooner one was just hangar music tbh
I was so used to RCSM that i completely forgot how dull and mudane the original ingame sounds are.
I have very low expectations from Gaijin on how they handle this.
If it’s anything like how they’re handling the CDK it’s going to be abysmal.
