Precisely, which is why I won’t frown upon it. This is better than nothing, or something, I guess.
I will still be focusing on playing my recently acquired Challenger 3 TD and grinding for 2A7V (just started), then T-90M.
Sadly, this is hardly enough incentive for me to go back to play U.S and grind for SEPv2, specially since SEPv2, as of now, is just a worse SEP, which is a barely better A2 already.
As of now, SEP is just A2 with better thermals, and SEPv2 is just SEP, but slower. Same tank over and over since 2019, with zero upgrades beyond 1st → 2nd gen thermals.
And people call these tanks “overpowered” and “some of the best in the game”? Meh.
The side armor of the Turret certainly was improved, what was also improved was the gen of DU inserts, which affects overall protection, with the SEP V3 and V4 having a totally new type of armor with the V4 being longer and wider actually, and meeting 80tons
Leopard 2A7V and T-80BVM can boast about being nearly frontally immune, excellent survivability, 3rd generation thermals, and highest pen in the game in 2A7V’s case.
T-90M, same as the above, except with worse mobility in exchange for even better protection.
Strv 122+, Strv 122B PLSS and Strv 122A can boast about being nearly frontally immune and excellent survivability.
Type 10 and TKX can boast about extreme rate of fire, 3rd gen thermals, solid all-round armor and outstanding maneuverability.
Even Challenger 3 TD can boast about above average protection levels and survivability, 3rd gen thermals and highest pen.
Now… what can SEPv2 or SEP boast about? Is it armor? Is it survivability? Is it electronics? Is it penetration? There’s nothing it excels at. At least now it can kinda boast about above average rate of fire…
The only thing the Abrams tanks can boast about is… being better than the Arietes, Leclercs and Merkavas? That’s not much to boast about to consider them “some of the best tanks”.
challies are straight up horrible, maybe the new one on long range hull down maps is usable. m1a2 sep+ is all around balanced. There are straight up worse MBTs in the game that got NERFED while the entire top tier abrams series got buffed
Its sadly a common mindset in some parts of the world. Some people never get it good, so its unfair when others dont suffer with them, I get it, its malice, its unfortunately human.
See, this is my curse, as an all-nation player and enjoyer.
I have zero biases; I want each and every single nation to be perfectly balanced and have similarly capable counterparts against each other.
I want to have the same fun when playing any nation and against any nation. I want to STRUGGLE to decide which new tanks to grind and which lineups to play because they are all as fun in their own ways, yet roughly ad capable.
That’s all I want.
Yet I have to constantly have people telling me that I am biased towards/against X/Y nation because they consider that the buffs/nerfs I support are unfair because it doesn’t benefit their preferred nation.
And less than 1/10th of the players, these being for the most part niche and/or multi-nation veterans.
Just because there are 10:1 K/D players with 70% WR playing Italy and inflating its stats doesn’t mean that the far larger and more mixed and average American playerbase suffers from a “skill issue”, the same way it doesn’t mean the Arietes are any better at all.
People saying that the abrams are awful is my issue. Like, sure I know minor nations are less popular and therefore are going to have vets/better players grinding/playing them but Italian top tier tanks are objectively worst then any other top tier tank, yet they still have to face the top dogs from every nation.
Skill or tank issue can only go so far. The US has amazing top tier CAS and the tanks are far from the worst.
You are right about that, but you are forgetting the turret of the M1A2 SEP is immune just like the others, and now outreloads both.
You are also forgetting the fact that M829A2 have better spalling than DM53, by far. If you’ve tried them, which i think you did, you would notice it. DM53 spalling is quite terrible.
Additional protection that, in fact, adds nothing, since the weakspots are the same but the mobility and almost everything else is terrible compared to the M1A2 SEP’s, especially reload times.
This is right, but as always, you are forgetting the fact that compared to the Abrams, they have worse mobility by far, and thermals.
The armor of the Type 10 is not solid at all, their CVT is not even modeled, and they have a small ready rack. They also have terrible elevation/depression angles and depressing gun handling, you are also forgetting the fact they are extremely wobbly.
Spoiler
The M1A2, M1A1 AIM, M1A2 SEP v1 and v2 does all retain:
One of the best mobility over top tier ( and the best low speed handling by far ).
Now, the second best reload over all top tier tanks.
A very good round.
Best elevation/depression angles out of all top tier.
Good optics and reload
This is not good? Dunno.
Personally, i would rather have the reload than the armor, because a good player is not gonna hit you where the armor is anyway.
The only problem with the M1A2’s are the terrible teams, or that wouldn’t explain why USA have 40% WR right now while even Italy have a better WR.
