Whilst Germany might be the most wallet warrior esque, as a nation. I do believe it is the American playerbase, and American vehicles that take the no1 spot for revenue
Also, whilst we can have small wins like the BOL pods. Having our anti air completely shafted yet again, is ridiculous, I mean we now have 40km SPAA systems whilst we are on an ADATs, added in 2019, with 10km of effective range
i dont even use the ADATS, i use stormer AD as its more reliable until a heli appears and then the missiles stop working
CAS at top tier has completely power crept anything we have now, and I’m gonna bet these new systems too. The best SPAA now and probably after the patch is just gonna be CAP.
SPAA at top tier is horrendously unrewarding and boring gameplay. You are just food for tanks, and you are food for good CAS players. You have matches where you sit and see virtually nothing all game, matches were you die within 1 minute of spawning to a tank, matches where you run into CAS that knows what they are doing and you only option is to hide from them, yes even in pantsir, and probably in these new ones too. Matches were you spawn in as the only SPAA then 1 minute later half your team dies and spawns SPAA too.
The only SPAA that is somewhat enjoyable to play are stuff like the gepards, chieftan, early ZSU, 2s6, stuff that can actually hold their own against ground vics, have good mobility, and fight planes they have some parity with capability wise.
I guarantee you the experience most people are gonna have in these new SPAA is just playing a horror game where you have to hide from everyone on the ground, while also praying the planes that spawn are piloted by 11 year old console players and they don’t just pop up for 2 seconds to sling a salvo of missiles at you and disappear or dance outside your effective range while raping your whole team.
CAS at 12.0+ is like playing WW2 BRs again, every match I pretty much die once to CAS. Playing at like 8.0-11.0 is a dream, maybe I die to CAS like 1 out of 5 games there. I hope the new SPAA changes that, but I really doubt it.
If they want to reign in CAS they need to make CAP cheaper to spawn, you can say that well everyone will be in planes and the ground game will suffer, but people sitting in these newer SAM systems are basically deadweight in terms of that as well. I’ve seen so many games go to hell after like 4-5 players on our team decide to spawn SPAA all at once and sit in or near spawn while we lose all the caps and lose all space on the map and it ends up with them all dying to spawn campers.
Tbh, in cases like this, I would have no issue with them placeholding vehicles.
Give Italy and Britain the American Humvee thing as a placeholder until their new vehicles are ready. They can be swapped out on a like for like basis when released with the equivalent research and module rp applied to the new vehicles.
The adats, especially after it was recently neutered by not being able to see the missile after 4km just isn’t cutting it and something as important as the ability to defend against CAS is just too important to be left behind in.
Exactly, it’s extremely disappointing that Britain and Italy, especially Italy, the nation in the most dire need of a new SPAA. Was skipped in the main SPAA update and forced to wait another 4 months. It makes no sense and is very underwhelming
Whilst I agree that CAS may still reign supreme over the new SPAA, some players, including me, prefer to play SPAA over other vehicle types in games. However, the fact CAS is so good, doesn’t mean that Gaijin should just “give up” on adding SPAA systems to nations that desperately need it this update, in any case it should be the opposite, they should at the very least receive a place holder.
dont forget france is also stuck with the ITO, sure its one of the best nato sams currently, but it’ll be pretty much outclassed by everything in 2 weeks (except the Adats and Oto that is)
Absurd,Italy could have the GRIFO with the CAAM-ER missile,the MAADS System with the CAAM-ER , The MAADS with the ASPIDE missile,the SPADA,the SAMP-T, The ASTER 15/30,instead we are stuck with the Otomatic
I completely understand that you feel left behind and even though I love the OTOMATIC it’s very lackluster in the current top tier environment and it should be lowered in BR, but I digress.
On the bright side, with 5 nations receiving powerful SPAA it should be easier to snug under the protective umbrella of these nations while playing Italy or Britain.
Not the best scenario, but at least the Pantsir is no longer the only viable top tier SPAA.
I just tested the IRIS-T SLM on the dev server and I’d be happy to keep my fellow Italians snd Brits safe from those nasty Su-30 and Su-34s 😀

It’s… a bizarre decision. I’d much rather they didnt’ bother with the badger and worked on land ceptor instead, or some premium plane was scrapped for the italians to get a decent top tier spaa as well.
As I said before, the adats ain’t cutting it, especially after it’s recent nerfs, and it really, really sucks to be left out.
Issue is, although we will be safe from CAS. Britain and Italy will literally be unable to play SPAA, People whom enjoy SPAA gameplay will be completely shafted for the next 4 months unless they bite the bullet and change nation. It’s just incredibly poor from Gaijin
France and sweden use the Ito which is the best NATO spaa but neither nations will receive spaa that are better than the Ito as far as we know for now.
SLAMRAAM can go to the US and Sweden but thats the only other nation that can get SLAMRAAM but i doubt gaijin will add SLAMRAAM to anyone else.

The 1st dev server usually doesn’t contain all the content coming with an update. Might be added on the 2nd or 3rd dev. We’ll just have to wait and hope.

Sweden also receives an new SPAA, the EldE 98, which is equiped with IRIS-T missiles. Even though everything’s a little buggy and definitely not final on the dev server, that little thing looks really promising. It has only four missiles, but it’s capeability more thank makes up for that.
The best of them (in theory the German one) was nerfed and has a shorter range than the Pantsir. The missile may even be better, but what’s the point of putting 12km of range on a missile that has 20 in real life and the Pantsir continuing to be the best anti-aircraft overall. Or am I wrong?
They already confirmed, Britain,Italy and France are getting them in September, so for the next 4 months, the anti air gameplay for those 3 nations is going to be completely void, it’s ridiculous
