Ukraine Ground Forces Tree

I think honestly it’s this:

  • Armor: T-90M/BM Oplot
    • Duplet-2M has came a long way and offers superior protection along with Relikt.
  • Firepower: T-90M
    • The BM Oplot is unable to use long-rod munitions, restricting its use while the T-90M has access to modern rounds like the 3BM60 long-rod APFSDS-T. Both due have access to powerful GL-ATGM’s.
  • FCS/Observation: T-90M
    • This one is pretty close as both use Catherine FC 2nd-generation thermal imagers and have access to multi-function displays. Both tanks Gunner’s and Commanders have access to thermal imaging and good fire-control measures. The T-90M has better situational awareness as it has multiple cameras around the vehicle and integrates its commander sight with its RCWS which can provide a necessary firepower boost. Overall, they’re both accurate vehicles and are capable of firing on the move.
  • Maneuverability: BM Oplot
    • An obvious given due to the BM Oplot’s transmission and capable diesel engine, offering an impressive 24.7 hp/t and the ability to reverse quickly.
  • Active Protection Measures: BM Oplot (Varta Soft-Kill APS)
    • Can be further broken down if T-90M receives Arena-M and/or BM Oplot receives Zaslin.
  • Battlespace Management: T-90M/BM Oplot
    • Both have access to decent Command and Control elements.

Summary:

  • Both tanks have there strengths and weaknesses but share similar armor characteristics and C2 but the BM Oplot suffers worse in the firepower and FCS due to its autoloader/limited round usage and use of older systems. In terms of mobility, the BM Oplot blows the T-90M out of the water with its high speeds both forward and reverse. Both tanks however, share the same fate as both use an autoloading system that can be fatal to all three crew members if the vehicle is penetrated and its charges hit.

A projectile with an armor penetration of 600mm is not modern.

600mm is the figure for the 1990s.

The issue is its still more capable than that of the 3BM42. However, rounds like TAPNA can fix this issue in-game.

Edit: I’m sure we’re going to get the BM Oplot-T in-game under Thailand and that can likely use ammo provided from China.

This is undoubtedly true, but it is not possible to call the projectile modern

I guess the phrase I’m looking for is more modern than the 3BM42 but yeah, it is an older round.

Is that true?
IIRC, Thai Oplot uses Chinese APFSDS, I believe it was BTA4

It never had its autoloader updated and still can only use older munitions or rounds adopted for the older-style autoloader.

The Chinese DTC10-125 does not require modernization of the loading mechanism.

Exactly

32 km/h due to new transmission aswell as 1200 HP engine with Duplet ERA being the strongest ERA as of rn, also no relikt its not comparable ot Duplet, Duplet its a incredibly heavy ERA

I never said it’s 100%, I just personally think so, developments dont just form out of nothing.
Especially if Nizh got developed in a span of an year.

It is not true.

In addition, elongated shaped charges were more than studied at that time and had long been in use.

There was nothing interesting in ERA Gofr that could be useful when creating ERA Nizh🤷‍♂️

Oh right, the T-90M… can hit targets at ranges we dont have in game… without a spotter drone… wow, sick, so much better than anything the “T-84” has in game…

Do they both have good thermal sights? Yes?!
Comparable then!
Both arent “Gen 1” in game? Great! Equal!

FCS is dumbed down in Warthunder, nothing you point out matters.

You really, really, want to die on this hill of the T-90M having better FCS.
Yes, in real life, it does.
But this is Warthunder. The improvements it has dont matter. The game isnt played in such a way where they can be utilised, let alone are

Yes, in real life, it does.

Thanks for confirming what I said was right :)

Great, now bring it back to WarThunder, the game this forum discusses, the only thing that is relevant

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve love the idea and I’m all for it. The issue imo is not just copy paste but more than one of the same vehicles with similar modifications
