Ukraine Ground Forces Tree

The discussion was the T-90M is superior to the T-84. Which myself and other have proven

It has barrel deflection sensor reinstated as per the start of this year every T-90M delivered has had the sensor. Reverse speed is a significant weakness.

Armour T-90M
Firepower T-90M
FCS- T-90M
Reverse speed T-84

As I already said - go and play your best in the world turret launchers tanks and enjoy the game.
Some of us will rather wait for our own domestic “inferior” Oplot.

It has barrel deflection sensor reinstated as per the start of this year every T-90M delivered has had the sensor.

Uralvagonzavod posts a video of spring batch in May showing the new tanks without barrel bend detection systems (tank literally marked “3 Apr” doesn’t have it), but of course you know better than official source.

Is that a t80 or t72 Engine?

Any reader can look at the design of the Gofr ERA and compare it with the Nozh devices. There is nothing in common there

No thanks.

Those exercise pictures were posted in June 2023 first (VK: “Mir Modeley - Moskva” on Jun 23rd 2023) so these tanks were produced even before that. 🤦
If your evidence of Oplot “inferiority” are all checked like this (e.g not fact checked at all) then I wouldn’t worry about Oplot bright future in War Thunder.

The most important question to ask is…

When are we getting this added ???

+1 from me, they deserve to be in the game, regardless of what’s being happening in real Life,
everyone capable need to be represented, we cant let this game die, due to lack of vehicles, keep on adding more nations lol

I mean gaijin intends to add more nations clearly due to the fact they finished the code for the extra RP bonuses for new nations recently … don’t know if that effects sub trees tho…

Those were the photos from the source that listed those changes to the tank

Out of 5 previously unused vehicle stat card flags that were added in September 2023 (Hungary, Belgium, Netherlands, Thailand and Ukraine) 3 are now fully used. I’m sure we’ll see something sooner or later.

The principle stays the same

Back to the question, which is very hot on the Ru forum. Protection of T-90M gun mask. There is a person who states that this “beak” around the gun is much thicker than realized in the game. And in fact it should withstand many times more kinetic projectiles. I look at the photo and wonder if he may be rpav. Although it is unknown, maybe it is empty inside. But! The leopards beak is also empty in reality, but adds quite a bit of armor.

You can’t. for the reason that such trophies will never be added. Otherwise, you could add captured vehicles to Ru TT

And about the addition of Ukrainian equipment. It can be taken out as a separate country (why? and so many countries in the game), only if you make it the same as Israel. That is, you reach to the 7th rank of the USSR (when you run out of exactly Soviet equipment) and you have access to the TT of Ukrainian equipment in the form of a separate additional tab for the page TT USSR, as well as highlight the technique of Russia. In matchmaking they should always be on the same side with the USSR
But here you can face the fact that having done so for Ukraine, you will have to do so for other countries. India, South Africa and other colonies for Britain. Also for France and its colonies, Italy, etc. In general, a lot of headaches for developers

Sure, why not? If they will be actively used on duty in Ru armed forces, it would be fair.

So far AFU actively uses dozens of T-72B3 of various modifications, about a dozen of T-80BVM and T-90A and two T-90M.
They are not needed, but still worth considering because they all meet “must be used” criteria (superficial, I know). They all used, they all have ammunition, they all have some forms of minor domestic modifications (like normal radio).

Can we say that about captured M1A1, Leo 2, CV90? No. They cannot even move on their own, have no ammo (or stable source to replenish that ammo), will never be used in actual combat in single units not even mentioning significant numbers.

RAF uses ukr. tanks too But nevertheless the point of adding them is 0.
Plus the argument about widespread use is not valid due to the fact that we have WWII trophy vehicles that could at most be refueled. American Bf109, Ki-61, German Wellington (okay bombs, probably, could be attached somehow, but what to load turrets with?), Yak1b, P-47D, Japanese B-17, P-51? We can go on like this for a long time. They were captured, they were armed as much as possible, when they could get ammunition. By your logic, they couldn’t be added.

plus I don’t want to argue with you about current operation

Yes… but this doesnt matter for the game.
You posted something irrelevant, and got an irrelevant reply in kind and then complain about it.
What map regularly allows for even 4000m engagement ranges?
Let alone 7000m

???

which is not enough to think so.

More so because we were talking about which system is superior.
the tank that can reliably hit targets at extreme ranges without a spotter drone would be considered to have a superior FCS.

So yes in game that’s relevant

I think honestly it’s this:

  • Armor: T-90M/BM Oplot
    • Duplet-2M has came a long way and offers superior protection along with Relikt.
  • Firepower: T-90M
    • The BM Oplot is unable to use long-rod munitions, restricting its use while the T-90M has access to modern rounds like the 3BM60 long-rod APFSDS-T. Both due have access to powerful GL-ATGM’s.
  • FCS/Observation: T-90M
    • This one is pretty close as both use Catherine FC 2nd-generation thermal imagers and have access to multi-function displays. Both tanks Gunner’s and Commanders have access to thermal imaging and good fire-control measures. The T-90M has better situational awareness as it has multiple cameras around the vehicle and integrates its commander sight with its RCWS which can provide a necessary firepower boost. Overall, they’re both accurate vehicles and are capable of firing on the move.
  • Maneuverability: BM Oplot
    • An obvious given due to the BM Oplot’s transmission and capable diesel engine, offering an impressive 24.7 hp/t and the ability to reverse quickly.
  • Active Protection Measures: BM Oplot (Varta Soft-Kill APS)
    • Can be further broken down if T-90M receives Arena-M and/or BM Oplot receives Zaslin.
  • Battlespace Management: T-90M/BM Oplot
    • Both have access to decent Command and Control elements.

Summary:

  • Both tanks have there strengths and weaknesses but share similar armor characteristics and C2 but the BM Oplot suffers worse in the firepower and FCS due to its autoloader/limited round usage and use of older systems. In terms of mobility, the BM Oplot blows the T-90M out of the water with its high speeds both forward and reverse. Both tanks however, share the same fate as both use an autoloading system that can be fatal to all three crew members if the vehicle is penetrated and its charges hit.
