Ukraine Ground Forces Tree

Nah it’s going to die down in like a decade or so

Yea Iranian tanks kind of suck…

I mean, it is not about value. At least not for the USSR TT, which still has a crap ton of objects and other production vehicles (tanks, planes, ships) that can make up for 3 sub-trees. It is about general representation. The fact that the only ex-Soviet state you can quite easily access is Russia (literallly top tier of all forces) makes people think of Soviet TT as Russian, and because devs haven’t changed attitude to this subject for last 11 years, I don’t think they will treat Ukraine as sub-tree for Soviets

If not in the USSR where else would they add Ukrainian vehicles? They’d better not add Ukraine to something like the USA. And if no ex-soviet states are represented in the USSR then maybe gaijin should rename the USSR tree and change the flag of it to Russia. And with the T84 being in the Japan tree I think that the place where it came from, which should be the USSR in game, should at least have a version of it. Just like how China would have the VT4 if Japan gets it

Options of UA becoming sub-tree even for others like CZ-SK or PL are still on the table. I am not excluding Soviet TT getting it, but, as I said in my “yapping” comment, it
a) depends on what devs think of UA in the game in general (≠ what players think, because devs are in power for things primarily)
b) depends on how will they implement it (bits here and there like Canada/Australia (terrible option) or with UI rework to accomodate the ammount of vehicles)

I don’t see any signs for the latter, and former is much more probable because we do not know yet what next independent tt might come next year (if it is PL or CZ-SK, odds for them to get UA will grow exponantionaly)

Why not?

The T-84 came from ukraine, I’ll admit the the T-80 was russian, but the T-80 itself used a ukrainian tank, the T-64, as the basis of its design. Either way your point is moot since the soviet union had already collapsed by the time the T-84 made it into service, & russia does not use the T-84, & this post is LITERALLY about an Independent ukraine ground forces tree.

Independent means that neither the USSR nor russia are a factor here.

Because Ukraine isn’t American and the USA don’t need T90M equivalents running around.

And the poll you showed at the end shows that 34% of people DON’T agree. Which is a pretty big percentage. And not everybody voted so I’d say about 40% of people would oppose it. Which is a pretty big number and something that gaijin won’t take the risk for.

And people on Russian forums would have even more people opposed to this

So? the poll showed that 66% of people DO agree, and last I checked, 66% is BIGGER than 34%, it is in fact bigger by 32 percentage points. This means twice as many people think ukraine should be an independent tree than should not.

So you’d think gaijin would lose 34% of it’s playerbase?

There are people unironically wanting captured T-90A/M for the US.

Short history moment: there was above 70% (73 I believe), but when LATAM tt proposal arrived, there were people pointing out that a tt requiring an entire continent gives more unique options by not so larger margin than UA by itself, so some people from LATAM suggestion (primarily Latin American players) arrived to this suggestion with downvotes

Ukraine as a tech tree alone is not suited for this game as WW2 and cold war vehicles are entirely missing. And furthermore we already have a tree that could represent it, which is called the USSR

That’s like a couple of US mains. Russians also want T14 which is probably not happening soon

Infact if y’all don’t want Ukraine to be part of the USSR then the ships and tanks made by Ukraine in the USSR should be all removed. And why can’t the USA and Japan be together as one tree.

Another problem: devs treat everything colectively as Soviet in Soviet TT, and prooving players why T-64/T-80UD and so on are not Russian will take too much effort and the result would be weakening of Soviet TT and playerbase, specificaly Russian, being pissed off because of “muh Russia = Soviet and Soviet = Ukraine, thus them Soviet vehicles of Ukrainian origin are Russian” type crap

So basically a Russian tech tree, however with more unique vehicles than the original one. Why not just kinda put ukraine in the subtech tree of USSR?

Lol no, even without considering the whales, nobody is going to leave the game if Ukraine is added as its own tech tree or within an eastern europe tech tree.

Same case if they added it as a sub tree, literally nobody would care, this sounds like the idea if you watch the Russian dev stream and listen to BVV_d, they’ll add other experimental vehicles for now.
They want to give Japan some unique vehicles to give more of an incentive to grind the tree.

• Bad Idea Grind-Wise:

It’s especially dumb grind wise on the basis of the fact the Soviet Tech Tree is already bloated, & overfilled with vehicles (some of which still need to be foldered). Even then the tech tree would still be too big on its own (especially if other much smaller nations are being added into it). There is a reason Israel isn’t a US subtree (or for the UK even for that matter, which is an even smaller nation). It was too big to be a sub tree, and the US tech tree was too big on its own.

There is a great reason the US wasn’t apart of the UK tech tree, Israel wasn’t apart of the US/UK TT, and Germany wasn’t apart of the USSR tech tree.

• Timeline, Historically, & Geologically makes no sense :

The T-80UD was used by the USSR. The Oplot simply wasn’t, and existed after the fact. Adding a few Ukraine SSR MAKES MORE SENSE. It doesn’t make logical sense timeline wise to add vehicles that had nothing to do with the USSR, & have renounced ties fully. Russia was left to pick up the mantle. Russia was left to pick up the pieces of the USSR logistically. It being reflected in gameplay, would make sense.

• Gameplay:

Not to mention that would make matches play out in a more stale, over consistent manner. It would be interesting that YOU COULD face a T series style MBT that isn’t Chinese. Therefore maining one nation & lacking weakspot knowledge on can be an actual detriment. I’d love a match up probability that isn’t: Western MBT, Western MBT, Western MBT, Western MBT, Western MBT, Western MBT, One Chinese MBT maybe…

Imagine if Germany were apart of the USSR tech tree, and you never fought them? That would be boring asf personally. Even UK + US? Ugh, thing is it also ruins match diversity. Despite its historical accuracy. You don’t want a guaranteed “I’m stuck with this nation no matter the map or scenario”. It locks you into a binary you can’t escape which I’ve seen most players get burned out easier from.

Overall, if a developer is on the ball. It should make 0 sense to add it to the USSR tech tree, JPN tech tree (there is reason Thailand is there instead), or the US tech tree just based on the first reason ALONE.

Sub tree in an eastern europe tree? Sure. Sub Tree of russia? It’d be a shitshow.
