So why Thailand and Indonesia to Japan then. Lmao. Stop talking about political issues. Political issues are not allowed in this game. Ukraine should be a USSR subtree because it is a part of the USSR. It’s the USSR, not Russia tree.

No politics

I can’t comment on Indonesia but Thailand were allied to Japan during ww2 and hold pretty good relations like Italy and Hungary do.

Much better than what Ukraine and Russia have today that’s for certain.

Poland, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia could all have thier own trees. You could also have vehicles from Bulgaria and The Baltic states. Granted putting them all together would reduce the total amount of vehicles added (which is why I’d rather them be sperate trees/subtrees) but it’s disingenuous to claim that they would only have a few modern vehicles.

Yea but it’s the USSR tree not the Russia tree. Why should a nation that should be a part of the USSR not be included in the USSR ?

Mostly due to Ukraine and the recognised successor state (i.e taking over it’s seat in the UN security council and inheriting it’s nuclear weapons) are in a active conflict and putting it mildly, poor relations.

It’s not like Ukraine didn’t inherit any soviet weapons. Infact it was the second largest inheritor of soviet stuff. So why should it not be represented by the USSR? Russia is not the USSR and it will never be.

How exactly is the USSR different from Russia?

I dont understand why its so difficult to understand how gaijin implements subtrees. Ive explained it what it feels like a thousand times and i will explain it again.

For subtrees, gaijin has to consider first and foremost whether the tree needs a subtree in the first place.

So riddle me this: does russia need a vehicles from another nation to fill gaps that native vehicles cannot? (Rhetorical question: no it does not)

Even if it does need a tech tree, gaijin has to consider these even if you yourself for god knows why does not understand this:

Current Geopolitical relations
History
Culture
Diplomatic relations
Military cooperation in the past and present
How each country views eachother

And so on. Currently, ukraine and russia are in a war, their history is that of bloodbath and tragedy, their diplomacy is in shambles if you couldnt tell, their militaries aren’t exactly friendly with eachother, and they have severely negative views of eachother. You couldn’t possibly pick a worse subtree.

Considering your username, i assume you play china, have you not? Imagine this: in the early days of war thunder they added china to japan as a subtree despite their rather brutal history and current strain relations. Im assuming you would not like that.

As for the “USSR” tech tree part. Just because you could does not mean you should. Yes, ukraine was part of the Soviet union for some time, just like the rest of eastern Europe at some point. Indulge me, should east germany have been put in the Soviet tech tree? Considering the soviets controlled the territory for a good while before east germany was formed as well as when they annexed what is now kaliningrad? It fulfilled your criteria so i see no reason why not.

Secondly, the UN and US recognized the Russian Federation as the successor of the USSR, and allowed it to keep its nuclear weapons, something ukraine could not. So when we speak of the Russia and the USSR being interchangeable, it is merely the fact that russia is the successor state and the Russian SSR being the largest and most influential state in the soviet union.

Lmao

Also we already have an Ukrainian tank in the USSR tech tree, which is something called the T80UD

So Germany should be in the US tech tree because it is in NATO? Warsaw pact countries are not part of the USSR. Both Russia and Ukraine are part of the USSR, so both nations vehicles can be added. Besides there is a Ukrainian vehicle in the USSR tree already.

That don’t mean anything as the tree in game is the USSR tree and USSR represents both Russia, Ukraine and the other nations once part of the USSR.

Does Japan represent China? Japan has never represented China or any of the nations it invaded. The USSR however, represents all the nations that are a part of it.

So why is Canada a German subtree and Indonesia a japanese subtree? Shouldn’t Canada be an American subtree instead given it’s closer to the USA? I’m pretty sure that Germany, being a large and extensive tree just like the USSR, does not need a few Canadian vehicles

Which was introduced during the USSR, not independent Ukraine hence it’s soviet.

It’s… not?

Leopard 2a4m is Canadian

And the UK has several Canadian vehicles, as does the US.

Iirc, Smin stated that Canadian vehicles would “go where they are needed”.

Humour me.

The problem is that USSR just represents all the nations inside of it, which includes Ukraine. So why shouldn’t Ukraine be added to it? And stop bringing politics into this game

Y’all are just making people who want to play Ukrainian vehicles miss out because of some political issues

I could tell you exactly how it did not do that, but you’d cry “stop brining politics into it” & then mass flag it to be auto-removed.

Yea because that is a political issue. The USSR technically encompasses all nations inside of it and hence Ukraine should be added to the USSR tree. Stop denying the right of people who want to play Ukrainian vehicles just because of some political issues.
