Hello, why Type 74c in Japan doesn’t have its historical apfsds, it was one of the first vehicles to have them in irl, many nations with br 8.3 already have their vehicles with apfsds, for example t55a which has better v-max armor and gun than type 74c, ztz59d1 which is a better t55a, m48g2, t95e1, mars 15 etc., Japan is one of the nations which doesn’t have apfsds with these brs and suffers, once it could be argued that it’s about balance but today when more and more vehicles at br 8.3-7 have apfsds. why the vehicle which had them historically doesn’t have them in the game? today with the changed balance there’s nothing to stop gaijin to add the type 74c apfsds. And anyway in 90% you have full uptiers and you have to fight with t72, t64 and xm-1 gm etc, and I don’t have to tell you how hard it is to beat t55am-1 which is only 0.3 higher br than type 74c, when you meet t72 there’s not much you can do, and the same goes for stb-2 which didn’t have irl apfsds and it’s even harder to play with it, I hope gaijin will add it noticing how hard it is to play 8.3 in Japan and type 74c even on its br isn’t that great and is average at best.
I think most people would take their tanks being at a higher BR if it meant getting ammunition that would be able to deal with it. I think it should be left at 8.3 if it got a better shot though. it already cant do a think to defend itself from T72 or a battle-hardened Chieftain mk10 hull down.
Japans ground has some unique and cool things but is in such a poor state I don’t want to play it. i would like to see it change
Type 74C is not suffering, no where close.
APFSDS would make Type 74C 9.0.
T-55A fires a worse round.
M48G2 doesn’t have a stabilizer and is slower.
T95E1 doesn’t have a stabilizer, laser range finder, nor good APFSDS.
Mars 15 doesn’t have a stabilizer, laser range finder, nor good APFSDS while also being a light tank.
there is no chance that the type 74c after getting APFSDS will get br 9.0 because on 8.7 there is a t55am-1 which outclasses everyone, as for me gaijin could remove rangefinder.
T-55AM-1 fires the worst APFSDS round at 8.7, worse than APDS.
On top of that Type 74s are already correctly 9.0 with APFSDS already.
Type 74 with APFSDS is superior to T-55AM-1.
This is still a stupid argument, the T55 AM1 has composite armor and rockets that are strong, plus the apds in the type 74c like to crash into armor, I don’t want to say anymore that killing the t55am1, or the t72 with apds is like defeating a boss in dark souls, I already prefer weak apfsds to apds
I’d say this is a question that mostly relies on WHAT dart you’re referring to.
If it’s M735 I’d say yes, but with a bump to 8.7. (Only if it would be somewhat historically accurate for the Type 74C to get M735.)
If it’s Type 93 I’d say no, as there already are two Type 74s at 9.0 with the Type 93 round.
I also think there’s no way it should get a dart and stay at 8.3, it would simply be too good to be true.
Uhh… How exactly? At 9.0 other Type 74s get Type 93 APFSDS, while the APFSDS used on Type 74 (C) was only M735.
As for the change itself, it’s needed. Type 74 (C) model can be differentiated mainly through the bicolor camo it has compared to the Type 74 (B). This already isn’t even stock, despite being a defining feature. But it also uses M735 APFSDS introduced with Type 74 (B). So currently it can’t even be a proper Type 74 (C) when you unlock the camo.
Then I don’t see how Type 74C being the only 8.7 in any lineup is a good thing when it has a higher chance of seeing 9.3 enemies, and of course 9.7.
Cause right now it can only see at most 4x 9.3 enemies.
If made 8.7 with APFSDS it would be able to see up to 15x 9.3 enemies as the limit is gone, and your only backup would be 8.3s.
Especially since 9.3 has the most lineups in the game across all 10 tech trees.
Single german M48 and israeli Magachs, south african Olifant, french tanks that trade it to lacking stabilizer.
Which have ‘armor’ that doesn’t save it from L7 cannon carriers. How it does have better gun when it have worse APDS?

9.3 gets more full uptiers than 8.0-8.3 does, T-72 and T-64 are not that scary as you think

How? It is basically the same tank. Use your mobility, most tanks are slow and have poor acceleration on these BR’s. Japanese tanks got engine HP buff couple months ago, which make them even better.
