I actually prefer the M48A2GA2, I’m not dismissing the stabiliser as an advantage but it’s quite stable on the stop if you don’t brake and the firepower is very, very nice.
Not having the face the Turm III + TAM is also a bonus

That’s fair, but being able to peek over a hill and fire immediately without having to wait for the hull to settle is a huge advantage to leverage, and has allowed me to favorably trade shots with Strv 103s to set them on fire thrice.
Also, it (and the STB) gets a laser rangefinder. Which is AMAZING to have at 8.3.

Again, I just say they should give it M728.
Those fire Type 93 APFSDS.
The Type 74 (C) would fire only M735, would not have access to Type 93 which is far stronger.

The problem with the T-72 and T64A is that even if they have Uptier, they still have APFSDS and are able to at least deal damage to the top tanks from the front, in the case of the Type 74C and other vehicles with APDS, the problem is that you are not able to damage the T72/64 series tanks from the front, only the lower plate, but the fragmentation of the APDS is poor, And if the T72 stands a little further away from you and hides the lower plate, you won’t do anything to it, and on the other hand such a T72 at full uptier still has an equal chance of heavy fire, and the Type 74C does not, and please don’t tell me about destroying the track, gun and driving around the tank, because on these BRs it’s almost unrealistic and hardly anyone is so stupid to let themselves be killed like that
As I told above, you have advantage in mobility. This is more like tank for sniping (8.0x zoom, laser rangefinder and suspension), not rushing.
I never use this tactic since cannons are almost impossible to take out
yes I also use the Type74c for shooting far away but you can’t do it right on uptiers, because of what I wrote above
