I’d love to see at least LMGs AAA at the helicopter bases. Last time I spawned a helicopter, it was later in the match, and an enemy chopper had flown all the way to our helicopter base and camped it to kill anyone spawning via point blank fire.
Well, setting defaults for player preferences is something where there is certainly room for improvement.
Let us save such stuff like canopy open/close, swing wing mode, gun convergences, arming mechanics, and especially also controls setup - how many times I’ve gotten into trouble because I forgot to switch to an appropriate controls setup…
All such stuff should a) not only be freely configurable, but b) also be possible to configure depending on selected aircraft.
Technically, should easily be possible, as for example the way custom sights are handled, where a blk-file defines for what vehicles sights are handled in what way.
Custom hangars are another example, how easily this could be solved.
Maybe in another 12 years? I can appreciate they haven’t had long enough to make this happen already.
These things can be changed with one click and one keypress respectively. Its really cannot get any easier.
Noone said it’s not easy to click. But it’s annoying to constantly need to do something unneccessary.
Example canopy: You spawn, canopy opens. You close it, but because that control is fiddly it often closes part way, opens fully again, you press the control again so it closes, maybe fully, maybe just partially again,…
For something that could be a simple setting in the options: “Do you want to spawn with open or closed canopy?”. Done.
(Yes, I know it closes automatically when I exceed a certain speed, but that’s not done like that of course. But automatically open it so the player has to close it again? At the very least have it open when we span, not open it after spawning. I think that is the most annoying part of it…)
