TV guided weapons must have their SP cost put on par with IR weapons

IR/TV seekers when LDIRCM spots them irl:

but I guess your proof should be enough along with some real UNCLASSIFIED documents you should be able to bug report

that’s what I was saying, the question was why they (you) were trying to recommend someone else try it with the KH-29 despite it being the best cas missile in game (that’s actually real…) while trying to prove that TV guided stuff is the same as IR stuff.

my point is, the KH-29 has a higher than average lock range for TV seekers, so their (your) point is pretty invalid.

LDIRCM

it might cook the seeker, but it won’t have as strong of an effect because it isn’t blinding the seeker immediately, it being not in the IR spectrum and all.

a powerful laser that can boil a IR seeker will also wreck a TV camera sensor.

heres a rather low power (in comparison) laser from a LIDAR system damaging a camera, just to prove the concept exists.

What a meaningless statement, there’s only 2 lock on ranges for TV missiles in the files

  • ~6km range (12km base value)

missiles like the AGM-65B/H/K, Delilah, Grom-B, PGM-500/2, PGM-2000/2, Kh-29T/TE/TD, etc

  • ~3km (6km base value)

missiles like the AGM-65A, bombs like the KAB-500Kr/Kr-M, KAB-1500Kr, AGM-62A/B, etc

So yeah, technically 6km is higher than the average between 3 and 6, but then every 6km TV missile is “higher than average”

I frankly couldn’t care less about this stuff,or to better put it: you just showed how TV missiles are,yet again, stronger than IR missiles and are more of an upgrade in this game for how Gaijin is treating them

And i see you refused to watch my proof, good

They’re not
This is just a gimmick

Actually he showed the only scenario where TV missile is better VS IR seeking, and it is against helos equipped LDIRCM , since gaijin refuses LDIRCM to burn tv seeker head.

As I stated before, just go and take a CAS plane equipped with tv mavs on ground game or 29T , and use IR seeking mavs after that and you might surprise how much more effective those are.

Listed everything except the line for ground sensitivity that made A lock tanks at 3km and B 6km? Lacking talent bro

There’s literally no such line present in any reputable data sheet,so try again

Still refusing to see the replay i see

Solution: Find an actual datasheet

btw their hard lock limit is 24km. 15 is the value for kh29

Buddy i’m using the datasheet from Koppany99 and Gszabi99,two of the most well informed players in circulation, with the latter being the dataminer of this game

What’s your sheet?the one you find behind the cereals?

The only reason I will use TV guided is to destroy helis, the TV guided AGMs, for some of them, lock range is only 3KM…

I think OP is confusing aircraft vs aircraft balance for weapon-type vs weapon-type balance.

Hawk 200 RDA vs Hawk 209 is night and day when it comes to CAS performance given one has AGM-65Bs and the other has AGM-65Gs at the same BR. The one with AGM-65Gs 100% should cost more to spawn in

Whether something like the Mig-29KR or Su-30MKK which OP specifically mentions in the post should be a higher BR and/or cost more SP than they do currently is an entirely different question, and I think how SP costs are handled period are just bad given total loadout is not considered in the cost, only the most expensive item is considered

My full thoughts on how to fix SP costs for aircraft:

So yes, an Su-30MKK is probably a better CAS aircraft at the moment than the Harrier. despite having TV guided weapons instead of IR guided, but IR guided are simply the better weapon in a direct Peer to Peer comparison, and thus should cost more.

honestly night battles are whatever, bad weather is actually a way worse thing than night battles as your vision in that extremely high contrast screen is blinding and its a pain to find anything.
But the main difference between why IR weapons and TV weapons should not have the same SP cost is lock on range and how quickly you can find enemies without friendly scouts.

It is infinitely easier to find white dots on dark grey background than slightly gray vehicles on a flashbang white screen depending on weather and map (desert/snow for example).
The IR weapons also get a much longer track range which is a bigger boon. That doesnt mean that TV guided weapons are useless but just that there is a difference to note.

What WT needs is a multiplier to SP cost of munitions based on BR where lower BRs have higher multiplier as theres less ability to intercept things like that or counter that.

I guess we could also drop ir agm carriers down in br because

A10 late to 10.3, f111f and k2k to 11.3, av8b na to 11.0 or 10.7

I agree with your proposal,in fact I instantly thought that the only way to address CAS spam is to change how SP costs are accounted and thehy should take into consideration the amount of ordnance you’re bringing, with a multiplier added if you’re bringing multiple copies of the same thing. That way,the 6×Kh-29TD+2×LD-10+2×R-73 loadout, for example, could cost very well above 1000 SP for the first spawn, making you play more tank-on-tank fights and thus being more useful to the team, instead of costing the equivalent of 2 kills.

But still,TV weapons still costs too few and their cost should be seriously addressed since the other way around to limit the broken effectiveness of stuff like the Yak-130 is to have bad weather be the standard weather of 99% of battles.

And lucky IR quided does cost more atm, vs TV quided.
And to be fair, one of best CAS planes on that 12.0 is Premium harriers.

Other side note, is finally A10C was dropped on 11.7 and that thing can now shred, on 11.7 br, and harrier is no mean bad CAS plane. I run it on 2 x 9M , 3x Ir mavs and 1 x 120 and it gets job done.

YEah, best of community crying when YAK went up on BR , but A4’s stick still on 9.3.
"But but but, it got 1 bomb less ( Israel) , but still get CM’s and missiles for air targets on ground games. But hey, russian bias.

Same russian bias, when communist planes are stuck on TV seekers until 12.7 on ground, but some get IR seekers on 10.7 onwards. And yet some people are seriously trying to argue that TV seekers are same effective as IR seekers. News flash, they are not even close.
True, some planes get targeting pod even with thermals, but it still doesnt effect on lock range of TV missiles at all on target.

And this is normal bad weather ,

Got lock on tv seeker in 2.9Km
Next test, same weather using IR.

And it get locks 4x longer.

So yes, they are just the same… Or are they
Since if that wasnt testdrive, you wouldnt even spot that first pics tank from there, unlike on IR seeker, where you can see “bit better” :D

If you’re using their data sheet you would have known the 15/24 difference

But yes theirs locking and guidance is mixed together. Also weird that they didn’t include ground sensitivity just as flare sensitivity. Won’t change the fact that A locks worse than B , now explained by 6km base line + ground = 3km, 12km + ground = 6km
