Turret Basket in regards to the Abrams

We all despise the implementation of the turret baskets and how Gaijin has yet to implement more for newer tanks. Though in testing, I realize why does a fire start everytime the Abram’s turret ring/basket gets destroyed? For the Leopard one it doesn’t at all. I’m not hitting any fuel tanks, only the basket/ring itself.

It is because of the hydraulic fuel lines versus the leopard 2A6+'s electronic pump? I tested it on the 2A4 which uses hydraulic pumps but it doesn’t create a fire.

We all know how the hydraulic pump in the abrams isn’t even the right one (supposed to be in the engine) or how the turret ring armor is inaccurate - but this is on a whole level of annoyance.

PLEASE fix this. Istg its absolutely the most annoying part of the abrams. Or at least make FPE replenishable or something. I had a game today where my fuel tank got hit, fire, driver fuel tank hit, fire, and then my turret ring, fire, and then i burnt to death because of it.

I would do this instead: Realistic loading mechanics: An alternative to the turret basket penalty?

The only annoying thing about the turret basket in Abram is the placement of hydrolic pump. Even before turret basket, If a round penned you in abrams than most of the time your turret would just stop working

Though leopard were more affected by turret baskets

The problem here isnt even the turret basked itself its the fires caused by it getting penned.

The hydraulic pump should be in the engine, the one modeled is the reservoir. Besides hitting the pump shouldn’t automatically render the turret basket unable to move. The reservoir is there for a reason.

Fire suppression system on tanks aren’t limited like how they’re in game with only two fire extinguishers.

I want to make a bug report about this but knowing Gaijin they’d either…

  1. Accept it and never implement it
  2. Make the Leopard one also catch fire

Now lets see where it ends up.

What I want to know is why is it that if you turn your engine off and run down the battery the gunner will operate the traverse with the emergency manual controls, but if the hydraulic/ electrical system is disabled the manual controls are disabled too.

Just remove the nerf. It was not needed in the first place. Realism =/= fun.

Welp it got not a bug because of hydraulic fuel lines. What a fun mechanic that no other tank has. Turret baskets shouldn’t have been implemented.
