Turkish Ground Forces Tech Tree

T205

Technology demonstrator/Prototype that I saw really no one talking about. Only thing that i found where people were talking about this was in the old forums with Iliberte and some other people .
This vehicle is all on its own without being based in other platforms .
What do you guys think about this?

Why is the Arma 8x8 (CT-CV 105HP) put at 9.0? It’s essentially the same as the Patria CT-CV 105HP in game at 10.0

Some of the vehicle’s Battle Rating needs re-adjustments and Arma 8x8 (CT-CV 105HP) is one of them. When we first introduced Arma 8x8 (CT-CV 105HP), Patria CT-CV was not in-game so we had no point of reference for Battle Rating. Since then, its Battle Rating is re-adjusted as well as its placement in Tech Tree.

It is now sitting at 9.7 - 10.0 (it is not decided yet). It has lower Battle Rating than Patria due to low Horsepower/Ton ratio. Though it comes with modular armor with base value of STANAG 4569 Level II and can be increased to Level III (and potentially IV), so weight and armor values could be adjusted to be par with Patria both in performance and Battle Rating.

Well, it is sadly not a technology demonstrator or a prototype, it is mere scale-model thus it does not have any place in War Thunder. Though, T205 is actually a very-well designed tank design and has interesting concepts.

May I ask the reason of why the KORKUT is placed at 8.3? Afaik the system’s 35 mm Oerlikon autocannons is a very potent AA gun, and that it has an access to modern radar and potentially some MANPADs like the Singer missile?

Also, I’m waiting for the dev server to see the new BR ceiling for rank 8 ground, so I suppose we should expect some tech tree update when it’s live, both for BR decompression and reorganize the rank 7 placement.

It is basically an analog to Gepard.

Improved radar hardly means much for War Thunder unfortunately.

Well, that’s a bummer.

Any info about how the KORKUT were supposedly being able to be equipped with MANPADs?

I’m not invested in Turkish military industry so much that I actively look into it, so I can’t say I have

Well as @Mahiwew stated, it is more or less par with Gepard. Of course they are exactly same both vehicles have their own drawbacks and advantages. Biggest draw back of KORKUT is lack of Search Radar. In real life KORKUT would be operated with KORKUT Command and Control Vehicle (yes both systems named as KORKUT, specifically KORKUT KKA and KORKUT SSA)

Combined Radar & E/O Sensor Tracking might offer better tracking capabilities if it ever matters in War Thunder. Power of ATOM 35 depends on its implementation.

Nope there’s no such configuration, it is/was never mentioned in any official document. Closest thing to KORKUT with MANPADS is GÜRZ which has greatly modified KORKUT/GÖKDENİZ turret.

Considering the lack of search radar and the hull that Korkut is based on, wouldn’t it arguably be worse in game than Gepard?

I’ve been think about it but I’m not sure if it is out right inferior. ACV-30/ACV-AD is said to have STANAG Level IV (or V I don’t remember right now gotta check FNSS brochure), I don’t know if it is worse than Leopard 1 armor. It has slight mobility advantage over Gepard with 20 hp/t . ATOM 35 is the main strength of KORKUT, as long as it is implemented properly, I believe it would be decent vehicle at its BR.

Liberté has already explained it, basically it is equal to Gepard (not 1A2), with only difference is having a better radar (which doesn’t really mean anything for a SPAA which has cannons only) and APFSDS rounds.

You’ve guessed it right, when “Air Superiority” update’s Dev Server arrives we will update our Ground tree’s vehicle placements and vehicle BRs accordingly.

It is just an unsourced claim on the Wiki. The ability to mount MANPADs on KORKUT is not mentioned in manufacturer’s (ASELSAN) infographic brochures.

Aight, thanks for info m8.

ASELSAN’s AKR radar on KORKUT has both Search and Track functions, according to the ASELSAN’s brochure and website.

I am not sure how it looks in search mode, maybe it covers a wide area only in the direction it’s looking or the whole thing is spinning until a target has been found.

Hello,do anyone have an updated tech tree imagine?

Current version of the Tech Tree is the most up-to-date one. We are waiting a little more before finishing and polishing Tier VIII additions.

not enough uniqueness, the majority of those vehicles are already in the game. It’ll just be another waste of resources. The small few unique vehicles can be like event vehicles.

I need to know what is your perception of “original” and “copy paste” to reply first.

To me, vehicles like Sho’t Kal Alef are copy paste, Sho’t Kal Gimel are heavy modernization (therefore original) and Magach 7C would be original.

With that perception in mind, the tree (starting from Rank 4) has 101 original vehicles out of 118 total (57 original vehicles out of 74 total without the premium tab), which makes a fairly good tree proposal I believe.

Of course, I would like to hear your opinion and feedback to imrpove the tree further.

I’ve said KORKUT’s radar AKR don’t have search function but I’m not too sure about it now. As brochure shared by @ByEmirReyiz states, AKR might have search function similar to Gepard. I’ve search for more up-to-date brochure since this one is pretty outdated and managed to find it.

Turkish brochure of AKR states;

“Its operational features include searching and tracking 3D targets…”
“3D Target Search and Tracking”
“Sector Search”

English version on the other hand does not directly mention target search function, instead;

“with track on move capability that can detect separated targets.”
“Detection of Separated Target”
“Sector Search”

English brochure mentions it has “detection” capability and Sector Search, latter being also mentioned in Turkish brochure. I’m not entirely sure if “detection” can be interpreted as search function or “Sector Search” means literal target search.

how about Turkish avation?

It wouldn’t be sufficiently unique to be interesting, it would rely heavily on ground for appeal
