I haven’t encountered it as I said, and I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people use wifi oblivious to the issues it has.
As you said, you thought your connection was stable, but wifi is inherently not because of how it works.
Same with the corruption, it’s not just your drive that can cause it.
Did you clear that cache folder, and verify the files in the launcher to see if that fixed it?
