Trees duplicate after being shot at long distances

It used to be a sign of bad connection to have a tree shot, and it’d just spring back up.

This is a bit different.

I’ve got perfect connection, I`d assume it has something to do with procedural tree destruction

Yea, I’m gonna jump on now and play about with it.

It’d be something to report as a bug as shooting trees is how I clear my sightline, and this shouldn’t happen like this.

At certain distances the tree stops actually procedurally destructing, and then beyond that it duplicates

I was about to ask you, what distance, I just did test drive at 1600m, as that’s a locally hosted instance.

1600m

does it at 1300 too

seems to happen at 300 meters too

Are they in the playable area? 300m I’d have to point to a connection issue if it didn’t show on mine.

yes they are in the playable area

With the game closed, in the game folder, there’s a cache folder, and that can be cleared out, then you can verify files in the game launcher.

I’d check that and see if that affects it.

How many trees can you get in one spot?

Its not corrupted i can assure you

It’s just as I’m not having the issue, it’ll be a client side error, hence where the connection comes into things, as well as the local files.

Any map in particular that it happens? Is it all the same type of tree? As Thiccolai said is it more than one, is it definitely duping, or is there doubles/triples in there?

happens to most trees

Is it on certain maps, or just everything? Is it even the manner in which you are shooting them down?

I’ve been using maingun myself, and I’ve done Mozdok and some on that ice map where it’s in the trainyards and has lots of dips.

Its on all newer maps

And shooting them with main armaments does it

Gaijin should just make it so one projectile of all sorts, even 5.56 rounds, delete the tree if they can’t get the netcode and damage calculation right.
