Tow2b poor battle performance

A bit of a side note but damn do I hate using these hunks of junk

Be it a Bradley or a CV top attacks are far to rng dependent at times

yeah the bill control values are pretty bad, this is probably more noticiable on the cv90, there slopes are your worse enemies

I’m gonna be real, the nerfs to the CV BILL make it not worth playing. 90% of maps basically prevent it from being useful. The 9040B exists which I guess is a plus though. Weighs less and has a full stab and only lacks the useless BILL missiles

Ah yes, a warhead that’s 96% explosives, also ingame the multiplier is more than 1.4 times equivalence

BTRs are straight up cursed, even if you hit on top of the crew compartment they just survive attacks from above. Highly resistant to plane cannons too, you are actually better off shooting at medium tanks

If a report hasn’t gotten answered for a long time you can send a private message to the Technical Moderators to ask about it. You can find all the teams and the areas they handle listed here: (Who is who and Reporting Procedure). If you don’t get an answer within a few days you can add more moderators from the list to the original message instead of sending a new message (that way you preserve the date of the message and it doesn’t look like a new request), adding one of the moderators to the message every 2-3 days or so until you get an answer.

Please do not to add the seniors until you have tried all other regular moderators, the Seniors likely won’t answer unless they are added and pinged by the regular moderators but if you’ve added all the regular moderators with no answer then you can add the seniors.

Well i am not making a report, and the missiles is already classed as heat in game to begin with so not much to report there either, as for the tandem there are more sources about it aside from the video testing them.

IIRC the video is from saab themselves the random guy just reuploaded to youtube, sure gaijin dismiss video proof at will, but it is very clearly from an official source.

The video has to be uploaded by the original source and found on that original source’s page for it to be valid, re-uploads could have been tampered with.

The hit analysis is client based and might not correctly show exactly what happened, i recommend comparing to the server replay.

That would mean that netcode sucks. Which it absolutely does.
But here it’s both.

All top down have the exact same problem. The BILL struggles to get any kills with a top down attack atgm slightly smaller than the tow 2b and no vertical drive on the atgm launcher.

Didn’t play TOW for quite some time and it appears to perform significantly worse than it used to behave.
Any idea if the missile was nerfed, or “balanced”?

during update “direct hit” tow 2b was “rebalanced” but no source was provided to justify the nerf into 100mm penetration, and neither it was modeled correctly to portray the twin EFP as it happens with tandem warheads too having a single attack and not a second short-delayed consecutive hit as irl, this thing is designed to pierce the external armor including the ERA but for some reason in war thunder this missile fails miserably at this task, if you hit something with ERA on top it only damages the ERA or the projectile is stopped at the roof, its like a worse proximity fuze HE shell except its not capable of overpressure so youre probably better just using pzh2000 PF round or something similar for top attack since that round will most certainly overpressure a light tank that would otherwise survive the tow 2b

Hell no, artillery proxy rounds are total garbage. They are straight up unusable in most places with the huge fuse radius of 3m since they trigger on everything. Only reason to use HEVT over regular HE is that sometimes you gotta shoot aircraft.
2B has 36mm explosive pen, it’s pretty good at overpressuring light tanks. Even kind of weak missiles with ~25mm pen (like AS11 or HJ8) can get kills by just hitting the side of a tank
